“
Damian Wayne: Victor Zsasz. Psychopath. How many women have you killed? Victor Zsasz: H-hundred twenty-one. Damian Wayne: A hundred and twenty one. Huh. Sounds incorrigible to me.
Batman: Robin, let him go! Damian Wayne: You'd rather fight your friends than the real problem. Batman: I’m warning you, son. Damian Wayne: Son? You didn't raise me. The league of assassins did (Slits Zsaz’s throat). Problem solved. Who's next? Batman: Damnit, Damian! This is a line we do not cross. Damian Wayne: Stay on your side, Batman - I'll be on Superman's.

~ Damian Wayne to Batman at the start of Injustice 2.
Damian Wayne, also known as Robin and under the mantle of Nightwing, is a major antagonist of the Injustice franchise.
He is the biological (or rather estranged) son of Bruce Wayne and Talia al Ghul, the younger brother of Athanasia al Ghul, and the grandson of Ra's al Ghul. Following an incident at Arkham Asylum, in which Damian accidentally killed Dick Grayson, the previous Nightwing and the original Robin, in a fit of rage, Batman disowned him and estranged himself from Damian afterwards, leading the latter to fully betray the vigilante who used to be his father and joining with Superman and his One Earth Regime. Damian also became an enemy of Dick's girlfriend Starfire, who developed a deep hatred towards Damian for Dick's accidental murder but joining Superman's Regime in the worst part.
He sided with the One-Earth Regime and Superman in the parallel dimension, the man who responsible for sending Zsasz into killing Alfred to manipulate Damian as his pawn in the earlier five years later prior the retrocontinuity on the second game.
He was voiced by Neal McDonough (who also portrayed M. Bison in Street Fighter: Legend of Chun-Li, Damien Darhk in Arrow, and voiced Deadshot in Batman: Assault on Arkham) in the first game, and then by Scott Porter (who also voiced Harry Osborn in Marvel's Spider-Man and Heimdall in God of War: Ragnarök) in the second game.
Damian Wayne is just as the same as his normal counterpart, having inherited his father's temper and for being a violent vigilante. However, unlike his other incarnations of when he was Robin, his Injustice counterpart is darker and a lot more vindictive, despite having a bit of his counterpart's good side when he did care about the late-Dick (now as the new Deadman after the original Deadman's spirit passed away and being the one who gave Damian his old Nightwing equipment as a birthday present).
After accidentally killing Dick Grayson and being disowned by his father, Damian developed a hatred of Batman for no longer considering him as his son. He also came to question (and eventually become disillusioned) with his moral code, which he saw as cowardly, as because Batman would combat crime honorably and not kill any criminals (even irredeemable ones), this would usually allow his enemies to return to commit more crimes and cause more casualties after escaping.
“
Robin: I just had a great idea! Deadshot: Put your hands up and surrender? Robin: No! Ha! I'm going to shoot you with your own guns!
Damian is also shown to have an arrogant and cocky side, being be sardonic and foul-mouthed at times, as he would not hesitate to insult or taunt his adversaries to the point of being downright sadistic; this is evident when he laughed at Headshot and happily announces that he'll kill him with his own firearms. Damian's temper and attitude makes him disliked by many, not just only Batman and Catwoman, but also other villains and even other members of the One Earth Regime, as evident by their respective dialogues.
Biography[]
Origin[]
Damian Wayne was born without his father's knowledge and was raised by his mother Talia al Ghul and trained into becoming a deadly fighter by the League of Assassins before reaching his pre-teens. With his training complete, Damian was finally revealed to his father, who accepted him as the new Robin, hoping to put his biological son's training and violent combat skills to a better use.
Damian later befriended Bruce's eldest adopted son Dick Grayson, the first and original Robin and now known as Nightwing, and they chose to often work together in Gotham City.
Year One[]
When the Joker used Scarecrow's Fear Toxin to trick Superman into killing Lois Lane, which resulted in Metropolis being nuked, as a result of Lois's heart being rigged to a nuclear bomb, a grief-stricken and broken Superman took revenge on the Clown Prince of Crime by brutally killing him, causing him to lose his moral compass completely. Now devoid of his sense of morality, Superman became a delusional fascist who sought to enforce global peace by any means necessary, such as brute force.
When Batman and Nightwing learn of Superman's plan to abduct the criminals in Batman's Rogues Gallery, Damian is left behind in the Batcave as the two depart to stop the remainder of the Justice League, who have sided with Superman and his newly-formed regime.
To their surprise, Damian had informed Superman's party beforehand and had the group arrive in before Batman and Nightwing. The two sides then work together when Harley Quinn releases the prisoners and starts a prison riot. During the riot, Damian is grabbed by the head by Solomon Grundy, but is saved by Superman before Batman and Nightwing arrive to help Damian back up.
As the riot wears on, Dick notices Damian excessively beating up the inmates and scolds him for it, but Damian, losing control of himself, responds by throwing one of his eskrima sticks at Dick in a rage. Though Dick Grayson normally dodges these tricks at practice, but as he was distracted by the fighting, he was hit straight on. This impact caused Dick to stumble over some rumble and he ended up breaking his neck, which instantly killed him. Shocked at what he had done by, Damian tries to apologize to his father but Batman, overcome with horror and rage, refused to listen and just shoved Damian away before departing from Arkham with Dick's body, claiming to have lost his son.
The accidental death of Dick Grayson death solidifies Bruce and Damian's respective stances and they get into an argument in the Batcave with regards to this. Eventually, Hawkgirl arrives to fetch Damian only for him to sense something amiss. Damian then throws his incendiary bombs at "Hawkgirl", who turns out to be Martian Manhunter in disguise, forcing Batman and the latter to escape. Damian later reports this act of deception and Hawkgirl's disappearance to Superman. By the time a crippled Bruce escapes to the Tower of Fate, Damian accompanies Superman in setting up the One-Earth Government.
Damian's initial reaction to the catastrophe of Metropolis was slightly altered in the future.
Batman, furious that Superman had decided to turn down such a dark path, began to oppose his new rule, with Damian questioning his father's philosophy on combating crime, as he was heavily impacted by Joker's killing Lois Lane and Jason Todd and his bombing of Metropolis. When the dynamic duo arrived at Arkham Asylum to protect the prisoners from Superman's might, Damian caught Victor Zsasz and though Batman tried to stopped him, he vengefully slits his throat for the crimes he had committed and for his murder of Alfred Pennyworth, unaware that Zsasz is actually a pawn of Superman to interrogate Alfred on Batman's whereabouts and Zsasz murdered Alfred when the butler refused to cooperate. Thus, with his killing of Zsasz, this ended up putting Damian under Superman's control, betraying his father in the process. This resulted in a fight between father and son, with Batman defeating Damian, but Superman escaped with his new ally to set up the One Earth Regime.
Year Two[]
Damian's role is minor and only made two appearances; One is to alert Superman of the arrival of Sinestro at the Justice League Watchtower and then again while while Despero, having been assaulted by the Sinestro Corps, is crashing into Earth.
When war finally erupts between the Regime and the Sinestro Corps against the Green Lanterns, Damian and the other members of the Regime are sent to deal with the various riots that Batman had planned to coincide with the Green Lanterns' invasion. Damian ends up fighting Catwoman and is knocked out and taken prisoner.
Year Three[]
Damian spends most of Year Three under imprisonment. When Batman puts Superman into indefinite sleep, he tries to get Damian and the other Regime prisoners to switch sides to no avail.
When Trigon and Mister Mxyzptlk got into fight, which in turn, caused reality to be distorted, Damian is eventually freed and the Flash transports all of the Regime's members safely to the House of Secrets. In order to stop the clash, Doctor Fate, Batman and John Constantine tried to banish the celestial being to the void, and Dick, having now become the new Deadman, arrives in the House of Secrets to ask for Shazam's help. Before Dick departs, Damian apologizes for the accident years prior, and Dick forgives him.
The plan works and both the Insurgency and the Regime members return back to their respective roles. Damian and the other Regime members are then personally thanked for their continued help against Batman.
Year Four[]
While out with Cyborg, Damian is attacked by a depressed Renee Montoya and is knocked unconscious by the former officer, who had now overdosed herself with 5-U-93-R Pills, which caused her to die from heart failure during her fight against Superman, and her body is then taken to be buried by a heartbroken Bruce Wayne.
Later on during an ensuing confrontation between the One Earth Regime and the Gods of Olympus over Superman's rule, Hermes arrives, demanding that Superman relinquish control of Earth. In response to the arrival of the Amazonian army, Damian and Cyborg brought out the rest of the One Earth Government's forces, who are met by Batman. When Wonder Woman defeats Superman but is attacked by an unknowing Sinestro of the rules of judgement-by-combat, a fight erupts between the Regime and the Gods and Batman's faction. During this time, Batman tries to apologizes to Damian for being angry with him over Dick's death and attempts to offer to work together again, holding no grudge over the incident. Unfortunately, Damian rebuffs this, citing the hatred he traced from Bruce's eyes when he was shoved off of Dick, and immediately rips off his Robin patch from his costume. Damian then tries to attack him but Batman proceeds to easily floor Damian with a gut punch in response.
Eventually, after Superman kills Hercules and Wonder Woman causes a second disturbance, Zeus, the King Olympus, who was enraged over Hercules' death, immediately intervenes, and Superman is pressured to disband his Regime. Superman fails to regain his power by inviting Poseidon to challenge his brother's claim, leading to Zeus attacking all humans that believe in other religions, as the world had come to denounce the Olympians' rule, due to now following their own respective independent religions. Hoping to prevent a slaughter, Damian and the other Regime members stationed in Earth do battle against the gods, and they receive surprise reinforcements from the Insurgency in their fight.
During the battle, however, Cyborg traces multiple nuclear missiles being launched at their position, as the US President alongside other world leaders had secretly made the decision to destroy Mt. Olympus, the home of the Greek gods, as part of their Armageddon protocol in an attempt to kill the other Olympians, as gods are vulnerable towards nuclear energy. As Yellow Lantern had been knocked out during the fight, Wonder Woman thwarts the attack herself by redirecting the missiles to space with the help of Superman, thus averting disaster. Superman then arrives with the Highfather, the ruler of New Genesis, who convinces Zeus to return to the realm of the gods and to stop interfering with mortal affairs.
Year Five[]
Damian continues to loyally follow Superman, though he remains a constant visitor of Alfred Pennyworth despite their differing standpoints. Although Damian thinks his father's efforts are futile, Alfred points out that Superman is constantly hounded by his own fears, which is why the butler is still confident in Batman's eventual victory. Facing growing inner doubts for himself, Damian is tasked with finding the various villains that scattered thanks to Plastic Man's assault on the Regime's prison complex. Damian's search leads him to drop down on one of Gotham's warehouses, where he finds many of Batman's enemies taking refuge. Despite dropping many villains, Damian is overwhelmed by the numbers, but as he loses consciousness, he is barely able to see Bronze Tiger go berserk and attack the other villains. By the time he wakes up, he is in the Hall of Justice's medical bay, where Cyborg reveals that he received Damian's distress call, much to his confusion.
Damian then returns to his room where he finds a box left by Dick, containing Dick's Nightwing gear and a letter hoping for Damian to eventually grow past his father's shadow. Damian is then congratulated by Superman, but Damian reveals Alfred's previous comments on Superman's fear. Despite Dick's gift, Damian still finds self-doubt as he only inherits someone else's mantle. While moving through Blüdhaven as Nightwing, he is followed by various members of the League of Assassins, who wish for Damian to join them in toppling over Earth's governments in order to bring the world under their balance, though Damian kills all the assassins in response. He later catches both Harley Quinn and Catwoman in a robbery, the latter having deserted Bruce's group after their repeated failures. Damian later asks Catwoman for advice in rediscovering himself, which she replies is to reintroduce himself as something new. She then blasts Damian's face with a pepper bomb before escaping.
Days later, Damian makes a surprise visit to the Batcave, bringing along a cake to celebrate Alfred's birthday. To his horror, he only finds Alfred's corpse and reports the murder to the Justice League. Damian then begins to hunt down Alfred's killer, Victor Zsasz. During his hunt, he sees Victor under Batman's foot and demands his father to avenge Alfred by killing Zsasz. As Bruce still refuses to kill under his code, Damian and Bruce immediately fight over the defeated Zsasz. While Superman joins the fight, Batman takes a Kryptonian pill and proceeds to defeat his friend. He then asks Damian if he would be happy if his father finally broke his code and killed Superman, but Damian sees through his father's bluff and throws an attack designed to kill at his father.
The effects of the pill then wear off as both Yellow Lantern and Wonder Woman arrive and defeat Batman, but Flash intervenes and rescues Bruce as a show of honor to the late Alfred, while Victor Zsasz is reincarnated. Nonetheless, thanks to Superman having Sinestro turn a blind eye in surveillance, Damian is able to murder Zsasz, repeatedly slashing through to the killer and sarcastically asking which of his famous marks represented Alfred.
After killing Zsasz, Damian later burned down Wayne Manor in an attempt to gain closure over the matter.
Injustice: Gods Among Us[]
Damian first appears invading Arkham Asylum, quickly knocking out several Joker Clan goons. After the Clown Prince of Crime himself managed to defeat Hawkgirl, Damian tried to charge at the Joker but is repelled by the clown's razor sharp cards. Before the two fought, Joker notes him siding with Superman over Batman. To which Damian replied by calling his own father a criminal, just like the Joker. The two battle, but Damian ends up getting defeated by Joker. Before the Joker can get a chance to finish him off, the Insurgents arrive and Hawkgirl grabs Damian and retreats.
At Stryker's Island, when Batman's Insurgency is starting an attack to save the prime universe's Batman, Nightwing encounters Green Arrow. Green Arrow, mistaking Damian for Dick Grayson, due to now being Nightwing, tried to reason with him but for naught until the parallel universe's Batman revealed to him that it is Damian, as he had killed Dick Grayson and took his identity as Nightwing. During a brief argument with his father, Damian tells him that Superman has been more of a father than him, causing Batman to resentfully tell him that he had stopped being his son after that, stating that Dick Grayson was his true son. After defeating Nightwing in battle, Batman coldly declares to Damian that he's "dead to him." Following Superman's defeat at the hands of his prime universe counterpart, Damian was arrested along with his Regime allies.
Injustice 2[]
Damian, as Robin is seen in the prequel chapter several years ago during the first game's prequel events. It will explain how he defects his father and joins Superman's Regime, and somehow retconning his killing on Alfred's murderer, Zsasz, with Alfred's dead remained unknown. In the prequel comic when Damian is freed and forced to return to Ra's Al-Ghul's side instead of having his Regime friends freed along with it, Damian has a chance to resurrect Alfred to Lazarus Pit, while ambushing Batman's Insurgency, and ruining a wedding between Black Canary and alternate Green Arrow, including on kidnapping two of Black Vulcan's daughters and Connor Lance-Quinn (Black Canary and the original universe's late-Green Arrow's son) as hostages. As Harley Quinn in charge taking care of Connor, Vulcan's kid safely, Damian nurses a weakened revived Alfred.
Despite Ra's threatening on Batman's Insurgency to surrender, Damian warns his grandfather that his father Batman will never give up no matter, and predicting the income of Insurgency's Justice League Task Force to Ra's hideout in South America, which became true as Batman implanted a nano tracking device on Connor, in case he is kidnapped like he is now. As Alfred began to recover, albeit still unable to talk for a moment in his recovery, Damian is having a heart to heart discussion with Animal Man on why someone who owned Batman a debt like Animal Man himself, even Vixen joins Ra's' faction. As Batman's Insurgence invaded Ra's' hideout successfully on both rescuing the kidnapped children and bested both Suicide Squads members (safe for Katana) and the impostor Batman, Damian goes hiding, leaving Animal Man to take care of Alfred alone, predicting Batman will come to Alfred soon.
Just as Batman arrived in time after knocking Animal Man out, Damian fights his father to prevent him from nearing Alfred and foolishly think his father will lock him again. As Damian let his father finish him off with no regrets, Alfred is both recovered and getting tired of watching the father and son fighting each other just as Batman's allies arrived and try to stop the two fighting each other, lecturing them to reconcile and never blame each other. Just as Ra's arrived and Batman failed to ceased Blue Beetle from firing the ceiling to enter the hideout, leading a battle between Ra's and Batman's side, Damian takes Alfred to the safer place. When Blue Beetle accidentally kills El Diablo, causing an explosion on entire hideout with no one else being killed but only the animals are, Damian leave with his father, even though Alfred is now safe under protection of Batman's group.
Sometimes later, Damian cut his hair to short and paid a visit to his Regime ally, Black Adam on behalf of Ra’s proposal to co-operate. Despite Adam’s refusal, Damian understand Adam’s decision not to involve with Ra’s’ war for the sake of their Regime leader Superman. There, he first met Kara Zor-El, Supergirl and was unaware that she is Superman's biological cousin, despite Adam restrictively warn Damian to stay away from her. Though being put in a confined room by Adam, Damian has been visiting Kahndaq and knowing its environment for a long time since he joined the Regime five years ago. At night, he sneak into Supergirl’s room again just to train her powers.
Shortly, he and Supergirl found the terrorists are threaten the hostage, and save them from the terrorists. On behalf of Kara not to kill the terrorists, Damian held back his killing intent and apprehended them, saving the hostages. Back at Kahndaq, Damian admit that his family are evil, but lied to Supergirl about Batman’s right reason to oppose Superman. As Adam witness the crime fighting Damian and Supergirl had done, Adam suggest Damian to stay in Kahndaq with them instead returning to Ra’s, and wants his help to rescue Wonder Woman from being imprisoned in Themyscira. Unaware to Damian nor Adam while both Regime members are worrying that the Amazonians will spill the truth about what the Regime had cause five years ago, they do not realize that one of the Amazonians are still loyalty to Diana and the Regime, meaning that Damian and Adam should not be worry about it.
When the news of the massacre on William City, Arizona reaches Damians ears, Damian suspect the massacre is actually Ra’s and Solovar’s doing, through sending Amazo on murdering innocent human civilians (including children and pregnant women) for their so-called “re-balance of the world”, leading him must head back to the League of Assassins, where they hid in Gorilla City. Damian manage to convince his fellow allies Vixen and Animal Man about the news for what Ra’s and Solovar did to the innocent civilians, then spills both later on what they are doing is wrong. As Ra’s and Solovar began completely massacre every innocent humans, after Gorilla Grodd’s failed attempt of his uprising, Damian, Vixen and Animal Man alerts their Regime allies of the League of Assassin’s recent movements. Damian soon devices a plan for a another coup, along with Animal Man and Vixen against Solovar and Ra’s Al Ghul. Damian do have agreed with Ra’s vision about the cruelty of the world, but this time, his grandfather had completely gone too far on wiping every innocent humanity, unlike Superman (although Damian himself was the one who sided with a child murderer who murdered Shazam in the first place).
While devising his plan alongside Animal Man and Vixen, they are spotted by the imposter Batman. However, it is revealed that when Damian was forced to return to the League of Assassins and spend time reviving Alfred, Damian figured out that the imposter Batman is actually none other than the revived Jason Todd. Damian tried to convince Jason that they are on the wrong side like Ra’s and Solovar, still believing in Jason’s old vow not to hurt the innocent . Once Jason has finally been convinced, they rescue Professor Ivo, who was blackmailed to work for Ra’s while his family was being held hostage, but was too late to realize that they are already dead, having been murdered for resisting. At the same time when the heroes of two factions are unable to stop Amazo, Damian told Kara Zor El that it is her time to join the fight and end Amazo once and for all.
Although Amazo is defeated when Damian and his allies tried to escape from Ra’s, Damian got knocked out and caught again, and Animal Man is also killed. However, Vixen and Jason manage to escape and began to warning the Regime and Insurgency of Damian’s captures. Thankfully, his mother Talia began realize how right Damian is, just as his sister Anthanasia fell for Ra’s betrayal, and releases both siblings then escape to Wayne Manor where Alfred and a redeemed Selina are.
In Batman's prequel chapter part when Damian was Robin, he is first seen aiding his father in finding Superman in Cellblock C of Arkham Asylum, but later defects him as Robin kills Zsasz and accuse his father for letting Jason Todd, and Superman's family Lois and their unborn son died by someone dangerous as Joker's hand, and Damian claim that he himself was raised League of Assassins as an assassin, different than his father's ideal of without killing on fighting crimes.
In a recent chapter's present time in many days after Ra's Al-Ghul's own Regime ends, at the cost of Talia’s death, Damian is shown to have been return to his cell as a mean to wait for other Regime remnants to rescue him and his imprisoned allies. He was later be freed by the remaining Regime members Black Adam and Wonder Woman (assisted by a newly recruit Supergirl), along with Cyborg, during Brainiac and Society's reign, until Batman stops the conflict to make an uneasy alliance with the Regime to stop Brainiac, thus freeing Superman. Damian is last seen beaten by Supergirl when she is about leave with a heavy heart after learning how the Regime heroes have fallen 5 years ago, but must deal with Brainiac before the arguing start again first.
Classic Ending[]
In his Classic Battle ending, after defeating Superman, which not even Batman is capable of, Nightwing realizes that he is capable of anything and developed a strong thirst for conflict, where he would challenge anyone who gets in his path. Seeing his ability to inspire fear in others, Sinestro sought to recruit him into the Sinestro Corps. Nightwing is then chosen by a yellow power ring and is recruited in the process.
Multiverse Ending[]
After his father Batman sacrifices himself to protect Damian allowing him to deliver the final blow to Brainiac. Now with an appreciation of what their family's symbol truly means, Damian decides to carry on his father's legacy as the new Batman. Given that Brainiac had installed a failsafe on his Skull ship, which would destroy his collection of captured cities and the billions of souls that came along with it upon the ship shutting down, its unknown if this ever occurred after Damian killed him, unlike with Atrocitus.
Bad Ending[]
If the Bad Ending alternative occurs the event of Injustice and the Masters of the Universe, Damian and Cyborg began to redeem himself like how Shazam, the Flash and Green Lantern, including Aquaman did, with Damian becoming the new Batman. He summons He-Man and his allies to the Injustice Universe, due to He-Man’s nemesis Skeletor allied with Superman. Though he and his allies manage free Batman at 90%, Wonder Woman snapped Damian’s neck to death with her lasso in front of Batman, allowing him to be completely free by Damian’s death.

Trivia[]
Although represented in the game as Nightwing, Damian is called by most of the players by his own name. In the sequel, however, he appears as Robin in default appearance, though he still called Damian most of the time.
In Injustice 2 when changing his gears into those of Nightwing, Damian's lifebar name is still Robin except in Story Mode.
According to Kuai Liang, the current Sub-Zero and Grandmaster of Lin Kuei from Mortal Kombat, Damian repeats similar mistakes from Scorpion by succumbing by their passions.
Damian's manslaughter of Dick Grayson was accidental in both the games and the animated film adaptation, however, he regretted it more in the film, and it ultimately led to his path to redemption, rather than the games in which it pushed him completely under Superman's control.
