~ Andrews insulting Zion while taking him hostage. |
Damien Andrews is the overarching antagonist of the Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders episode "Obey". Andrews is a Jamaican drug lord and the boss of serial killer, Zion Andrews, who sets out to kill Damien out of revenge.
He was portrayed by Brian D. Mason.
Biography[]
Andrews adopted Zion from his mother, an Obeah priest, because she needed Zion to be cared for after she died. Damien indeed funded Zion's childhood, down to his competitive running career until Zion injured his leg, stealing his dreams. Andrews was also an abusive and dangerous figure to Zion, to the point when he couldn't be an athlete, Andrews took advantage of that by ordered Zion to be his hitman. Zion was violent enough he disemboweled the people he killed, being nicknamed "The Sticker" by the media. When Andrews ordered Zion to kill a woman named Jubilee, Zion refused because she was pregnant. Andrews retaliated by shooting Zion in his head and burying him in the Blue Mountains. Zion miraculously lived and dug himself out of his own grave, but with the bullet lodged in his brain, he became psychotic. Hellbent on revenge, Zion set out on foot to find Andrews and kill him for the attempt on Zion's life. But because of Zion's damaged brain, he hallucinated the people he killed as ghosts and became increasingly paranoid of being haunted by their murders. Zion killed three more people, all of them American citizens in Jamaica, while performing Duppi ritual to prevent their spirits from haunting him, which sadly didn't assuage his psychosis. By the time he found Andrews, Zion held him at gunpoint and confronted him about his murder attempt. Andrews simply lambasted Zion for not following through with killing Jubilee and insulting him by reminding him about how Andrews had Zion in his custody. Before Zion can kill Andrews, the IRT and local police arrive. They appeal to Zion and convince him to surrender, but Andrews takes the gun from Zion and turns it on him to make a last ditch effort to avoid prison. It fails, and the both of them are detained, Andrews being incarcerated and Zion being institutionalized and arranged to have medical care for his brain injuries.
