Dr. Damon Kronski is the secondary antagonist of the novel Artemis Fowl: The Time Paradox by Eoin Colfer. He runs an organization called the Extinctionists who try to wipe out animal species. It is revealed he is under the control of Opal Koboi, although he was likely just as evil before then.
History[]
Early life[]
Damon Kronski was born to an Evangelist father who taught him how to be charismatic and influence a crowd. He was born with anosmia (without a sense of smell). When he was young, he was attacked by a koala in a zoo, which likely started his hatred of animals.
He became the leader of the Extinctionists, and set out to hunt as many animals to extinction as possible. At some point, (perhaps even before he joined the organisation), Opal Koboi controlled him with the mesmer to gather as many rare animals as possible to bring to her. He was kicked out of many countries for his actions, and he was forced to move to Morocco.
The Silky Sifaka Lemur[]
Kronski made a deal with 10-year-old Artemis Fowl to sell him the last Silky Sifaka lemur for 50,000 euros. They met in the souk in Morocco, where young Artemis sold him the lemur. 14-year-old Artemis (who traveled back in time) and Holly short rescued the lemur. However, young Artemis anticipated this and had Butler capture Holly and sell her to Kronski for 5 million dollars in diamonds. Kronski agreed, thinking that killing a member of a non-human intelligent species would make him more famous and popular.
At the Extinctionist meeting, Kronski put Holly on trial, planning to kill her. Older Artemis, in disguise, defended Holly. He turned the audience against Kronski and tricked everyone into thinking Holly was human. Right after this, young Artemis sent a video to all the Extinctionists, showing Kronski screaming at the souk, and telling everyone how he was attacked by a koala. Enraged, Kronski attacked Older Artemis, and sent him into the "cremation pit", which, unbeknownst to him, was actually the passage to Opal's underground lab.
Kronski went to the souk to kill Holly. They fought, and Kronski was about to kill her, so Holly healed his anosmia. The terrible smell of the souk, combined with the trauma of smelling for the first time, rendered him incapacitated.
