Daniel "Dan" Wachsberger is a minor antagonist in the crime drama series Breaking Bad. He is an attorney who represents nine of Gus Fring's henchmen after they are arrested.
He was portrayed by Chris Freihofer.
History[]
Not much is known about his life, but Dan Wachsberger was a crooked lawyer and also had children. Following Gus Fring's death and the crumbling of his drug empire, nine of Fring's associates were arrested and imprisoned, and the DEA seized all of their funds. Dan and Mike Ehrmantraut visited the men in prison, starting with Dennis Markowski. While Dan sat listening to music with his headphones, Mike assured Dennis that Dan would pay him and the others money to keep silent.
Dan made scheduled deposits to the nine men at an Albuquerque bank, often bringing sweet treats to the clerk as well. He additionally delivered a larger sum for Mike's granddaughter Kaylee, for which Mike thanked him. Dan promised him he would provide money to the nine families. However, as the DEA had begun investigating him, Dan was caught red-handed in the bank vault by Steve Gomez and two DEA agents. Soon, he complied with the DEA and called Mike about a false issue regarding the deposits, tricking Mike into exposing his location, although Walter White was able to inform Mike of Dan's betrayal in time for him to flee.
Eventually, Dan was added to the list of men whom Lydia Rodarte-Quayle wanted murdered. To prevent Dan and Gus' nine former employees from testifying against him, Walter paid Jack Welker's gang of Neo-Nazis to kill them. Dan was stabbed to death by members of the gang, while on the phone with his own lawyer.
