| ~ Danny to Vince and Justin. |
Danny is one of the two deuteragonists of Telltale Games' The Walking Dead: 400 Days chapter "Prison Bus".
He is Vince's fellow inmate, who got stuck in the prison bus during the beginning of the apocalypse.
He was voiced by Erik Braa, who also voiced Draven and Vel'Koz in League of Legends.
Appearance[]
Danny is a middle-aged Hispanic man that is somewhere in his late 30s. He has short dark brown hair and brown eyes, along with a short beard styled in a goatee. His skin is tanned, and he wears a standard orange prison jumpsuit, with a simple white shirt underneath. His prison number is "34789".
Personality[]
Danny appeared to be the most morally driven and impulsive of the three prisoners, often being the one to quickly jump into action if it means saving someone. Yet despite his caring demeanor, Danny does have a darker side to him in regard to his crime, as he's charged with committing rape against a minor. Still, Danny refused to take accountability for his actions and persisted that he was falsely accused. Danny would furthermore hypocritically accuse others of lacking in empathy, such as when Justin refused to help Terry when he was being strangled by Crabtree, while Danny was complete ready to help him. It does show that despite his serious crime, Danny appears to be genuinely affable and is shown to care about making bonds with others, mainly with his sardonic remarks during his conversations with Vince and Justin.
Story[]
Past[]
Not much is known about Danny's life before the outbreak began, except that he used to live somewhere in the state of Georgia and that he had a girlfriend, who was 15 years old at the time, causing him to be arrested and charged with a sexual crime, presumably statutory rape. Danny went on trial and was incapable of lying to the judge, as to him it; “just doesn’t feel right”. He was charged and sentenced to prison for an unknown amount of time.
The Walking Dead: 400 Days[]
Day 2[]
Two days after the outbreak began, Vince, Justin, and Danny were being transported to prison on a bus. The vehicle got stuck in traffic, and the three prisoners discussed their crimes. During this time, another prisoner, Marcus Crabtree, began choking a fellow inmate with his handcuffs. Justin urged the guard to handle the situation, while Danny wanted to intervene directly. However, being chained, they couldn’t act themselves. Danny shouted at the guard to stop Crabtree, but the guard’s warnings were ignored, and the prisoner was strangled to death. The guard then fatally shot Crabtree in the head.
The guard failed to call for medical help, leading to a heated argument with Vince, Justin, and Danny. The deceased prisoner suddenly reanimated and bit the guard on the neck. Panicked, the bus driver fled, abandoning the prisoners. The zombified prisoner was unable to reach them due to the chains but posed a threat. The guard's gun was trapped under his body, so the trio worked together to flip him over and retrieve it.
Vince used the gun to shoot the reanimated prisoner in the head. They then attempted to escape the bus but were unsuccessful. A zombie entered the bus, and Danny mistakenly thought it was a human, shouting at it. More zombies began entering, though a gate at the front of the bus temporarily slowed them. Vince shot one zombie in the stomach but realized it wasn’t effective.
Desperate to free themselves, Danny suggested shooting one of them in the ankle to slip the chain loose. Justin disagreed, but Vince made the decision. At that point, Vince had to choose whether to shoot Justin or Danny to secure their freedom.
