Dante Wallace is a major antagonist in Season 2 of the CW show The 100. He was the president and leader of Mount Weather, as well as Cage Wallace's father.

He was portrayed by Raymond J. Barry, who also portrayed Caleb Warrens in The Purge film series, Travis Hankett in Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, Chester Hoenicker in Flubber, and the Sensei in Gotham.

Personality[]

Dante is an overall sympathetic and protective man towards his people. But for this, he takes extreme measures by allowing the Grounders to be tortured to extract their blood and allow the Mountain Men to survive outside. He is also almost hateful towards them, seeing them as savages who should die for the sake of his own people. On the other hand, he is shown to be friendly with the 48 teenage Delinquents and genuinely wants to establish mutual trust despite Clarke's mistrust. Despite everything, Dante wants to protect his people as well as possible and he is also an opportunist. This is shown when he helps Bellamy Blake irradiate one level of the bunker in hopes of stopping his traitorous son's machinations. Then, he switches sides again, making a deal with the Grounders to avoid war between the different nations, but also bringing in the powerless Sky People to save the Delinquents from Mount Weather.

Biography[]

Dante is introduced to Clarke Griffin at the dorm and shows her around the entire bunker before assuring her that his men are looking for survivors of the Ark's crash on the ground. During a breach in the conduits, Maya is irradiated and Jasper Jordan agrees to donate his blood to save her. Satisfied, Cage and Dr. Tsing try to convince Dante to draw all his blood, but the President refuses and says they'll only do it on the volunteers. The incident with Maya leads Dante to confront Cage who he suspects is responsible. Although his son denies the accusation, Dante threatens him by implying that he will kill him if he learns of any betrayal.

In the next episode, Jasper's friends disappear and he confronts Dante about it. This causes Dante to have Tsing arrested upon learning that she was experimenting on teenagers. After ordering the Delinquents to leave, the President also has Cage arrested but the guards do nothing and Dante understands that they are now obeying his son. The old man, betrayed, is taken to a cell under the orders of Cage, new president of Mount Weather. In "Rubicon", Dante is visited by Bellamy disguised as a guard and the former president agrees to help him irradiate part of the bunker and allow the 48 to escape.

Angered, Cage confronts his father but despite what he has done, he injects him with the serum that makes him immune to radiation. During the battle against Sky People and Grounders, Cage asks Dante what he should do and Dante tells him to only release Grounder prisoners. Afterwards, Dante is taken out of his cell by Clarke and Bellamy in order to pressure Cage into releasing Sky People. However, that doesn't work and Clarke finally shoots Dante, killing him.
