~ Dari Ludum revealing his intentions in a fit of rage. |
Dari Ludum is a minor character in the 2013 video game Papers, Please. He is an Arstotzkan human trafficker who is the owner the Pink Vice brothel.
Biography[]
Dari's Ludum brothel is first referenced when two female entrants give the Inspector slips that advertise the Pink Vice, complete with the slogan "For all your fantasies!", on days 2 and 3.
During the duration of the 6 day, Inspector meets the second entrant who wants to get in to Arstotzka for a 6 months of work in the food service. As she is given back her documents from the inspector, she begs him for help and before leaving gives him a note. In it she states that Ludum promised her and her sister good work in Arstotzka, but she is afraid that he will force both of them to work at the brothel. She also states that Dari himself is in the line of entrants that day. The note ends with her asking Inspector to do something before it's to late.
Ludum himself is the seventh entrant. He gives the inspector a Pink Vice slip and even promises him that he can give him a nice girl. If Dari's entry is approved or denied, the next day's news will report that some dancers at the club have been found dead, presumably the woman and her sister that wanted to escape from him.
It's also possible to highlight Ludum's name on the female entrant's letter and his passport in the inspection mode. This brings up an option to detain him. Alternatively, Ludum can be given the letter that exposed him, thus enraging him, wanting to hurt the woman and allowing the inspector to detain him. The newspaper for the next day will report that a "mastermind of human trafficking" has been caught and that his smuggling ring has been shut down.
