Sandy, better known as the Dark Knight, is a major character in the SpongeBob SquarePants episode "Dunces and Dragons".
She is a knight that originally worked for the evil sorcerer Planktonamor until she was defeated by SpongeBob SquarePants and decided to join him, Patrick Star, and Squidly Tentacles on their journey to defeat Planktonamor and rescue Princess Pearl.
When SpongeBob, Patrick and Squidly reach the bridge to Planktonamor's tower, they are confronted by the Dark Knight, who is guarding the bridge. The Dark Knight is then revealed to be Sandy's medieval ancestor. A duel between SpongeBob and the Dark Knight ensues, and while SpongeBob's armour gets destroyed by the Dark Knight, he stills wins the fight thanks to his karate prowess. SpongeBob spares the Dark Knight's life and she decides to join SpongeBob, Patrick, and Squidly on their quest and learn a trifle of karate.
The Dark Knight tricks Planktonamor's guards into thinking that she was going torture SpongeBob, Patrick, and Squidly so that they can get into Planktonamor's tower. They then climb up an absurdly long flight of stairs to get to the top of the tower. Patrick, Squidly, and the Dark Knight manage to save Princess Pearl, however, the Dragon Jellyfish arrives and incapacitates everyone with it's zaps, except for SpongeBob, who subdues the dragon with his jellyfishing net, however, the dragon manages to free itself. Just as the dragon is about to kill SpongeBob, he pulls out a Krabby Patty that he was saving for lunch. The dragon eats it and enjoys it so much that it becomes obedient to SpongeBob and zaps Planktonamor. The heroes then return to the village and celebrate their victory.

Unlike her ancestor Sandy Cheeks, the Dark Knight doesn't wear an air helmet, which means that she somehow has the ability to breathe underwater. One possible theory is that this ability was a gift from Planktonamor.
