~ Dark Reize upon his corruption. |
Dark Reize is a major antagonist in the indie video game Shovel Knight, serving as the secondary antagonist of the Shovel Knight: Specter of Torment campaign. He is the evil alter-ego of Reize.
History[]
Shovel Knight: Specter of Torment[]
After Specter Knight completes four stages, Reize breaks into the Tower of Fate through the window. The Enchantress appears, bothered by the unexpected event. Endeared by the young adventurer's lack of fear, the Enchantress opts to make Reize her servant, disregarding Specter Knight's advice to ignore the boy. She proceeds to shoot dark magic at Reize, corrupting him into Dark Reize. He then fights Specter Knight to test out his new powers. After the battle, the Enchantress appoints Dark Reize as the new operator of the mirror.
When Specter Knight enters the mirror room after recruiting all seven knights, as well as defeating Phantom Striker, Dark Reize is nowhere to be seen. After defeating Black Knight again, Specter Knight confronts the Enchantress. Irritated by his insubordination, the Enchantress fights Specter Knight. After her defeat, she summons Dark Reize and casts more magic on him, transforming him into the campaign's final boss; Nightmare Reize, and sends him to fight Specter Knight. After Specter Knight defeats Nightmare Reize, the Enchantress appears, and Specter Knight says he won't serve her any longer. The Enchantress attempts to make Reize the final knight of the Order of No Quarter, but Specter Knight interferes and decides to be the eighth knight. He uses the locket's power to return Reize back to normal, while giving up his own freedom. He then carries Reize to safety.
Shovel Knight Showdown[]
