Dark Shadow are a criminal organization of ninjas who steal artifacts of Precious to sell on the black market in order to become rich and they are one of the four main antagonist factions of GoGo Sentai Boukenger.
History[]
Dark Shadow are descended from a ninja clan known as the "Society of Shadow". Their leader Gekkou of Illusions once sacrificed his body to seal an extremely dangerous living calamity known as the Demon Bird, taking the form of an owl as a result.
At some point, Dark Shadow began stealing Precious and was registered as a "Negative Syndicate" by SGS for their greedy goals involving them. The ninjas of Dark Shadow would first come into conflict with the Boukengers when Shizuka of the Wind encountered them while they were both searching for the "Blades of the Three Kingdoms" Precious. The Boukengers would go on to fight many more battles against Dark Shadow to stop them from stealing and smuggling Precious artifacts, typically with the use of a Tsukumogami they created by imbuing several inanimate objects with a spirit. On some occasions, Dark Shadow would be hired by another Negative Syndicate to steal a Precious for them. Dark Shadow would also form a tepid alliance with the Gordom Civilization and received the means to create Karths in exchange, as Dark Shadow had no grunts of their own.
Dark Shadow would be dealt a crippling blow when their deputy leader, Yaiba of Darkness, betrayed the clan and unsealed the Demon Bird in an attempt to kill the Boukengers before going rogue. Despite this, Dark Shadow was the only one of the four Negative Syndicates to remain active after the end of the series, competing with both the Boukengers and remnants of the Jaryuu Clan to recover more Precious.
