Norrin Radd, better known as the Dark Surfer, is the main antagonist of season 2 of The Super Hero Squad Show.
Once a member of the Super Hero Squad, he was corrupted by the Infinity Sword and transformed into a villain. After stealing the Infinity Gauntlet from Thanos, he sought to destroy the universe.
He was voiced by Mikey Kelley.
Personality[]
In his purest state, Silver Surfer is a kind and relaxed man. He loves humanity and will fight for it to its dying breath. He also has deep care for the fellow members of his team.
After being corrupted by the Infinity Sword, however, his personality changed entirely. The Dark Surfer does not care about anything beyond his sadistic tendencies. He is also very pompous, laughing at his victories. Dark Surfer does not simply kill his enemies. Rather, he leaves their worlds in shambles and watches them helplessly try to stop him. This seems to be his downfall, however, as he never took the opportunity to kill the Super Hero Squad despite his immense power, leading to them eventually defeating him.
Appearance[]
The Dark Surfer takes the appearance of a bald, naked, muscular humanoid male. His skin is entirely dark grey while his eyes are an emerald green. On his left hand, he always wears the Infinity Gauntlet, which is a golden metal glove with brightly colored gemstones on the backhand.
History[]
Years ago, Norrin Radd was a scientist on the planet of Zenn-La. In order to save his world from destruction, he pledged his loyalty to the planet eating Galactus, turning him into the Silver Surfer. Silver Surfer fled his master and joined the Super Hero Squad, though he was brought back to his old life when Galactus threatened to destroy Earth. He was also given ownership of the powerful Infinity Sword by Iron Man, who deemed Norrin as its only proper owner.
Silver Surfer, now corrupted by the Infinity Sword's power, was later approached by Scarlet Witch and Thor, who wanted his help to stop Galactus from destroying the Skrulls. The team was met by Ronan the Accuser, who Silver Surfer imprisoned in a parallel dimension with the sword. After Galactus was defeated, Silver Surfer stole Thanos' Infinity Gauntlet and trapped him Soul Stone. Realizing how far gone their friend was, the Super Hero Squad tried to stop him, but he used the stones to scatter them across different dimensions.
With the Super Hero Squad gone, Silver Surfer, now naming himself Dark Surfer, wreaked havoc across the universe, even turning the entire Kree Empire into a cake. The mayor of Super Hero City tried to talk him down, but his pleas fell of deaf ears, and Dark Surfer moved Earth away from the sun in retaliation.
Doctor Doom attempted to defeat Dark Surfer on his own, but he was cast to the edge of the universe. The now reformed Super Hero Squad also tried to battle him, but they were imprisoned in the Soul Gem. However, this was their plan, and they managed to escape with Captain Marvel. After they returned to the Hellicarrier, the squad realized each of their members could counter one Infinity Stone. After they located Dark Surfer, he split himself into six fragments, each with the power of one stone. However, the Super Hero Squad managed to defeat and imprison him. After Iron Man located the Infinity Sword and Infinity Gauntlet, which had been fused together, he reverted Dark Surfer to his heroic state and undid the damage he caused. Silver Surfer then willingly went into Kree custody.
