Personality[]
Darkwing is an arrogant, strict, and rough Transformer who hates being overshadowed by "brainless" miners and has a tendency to hold grudges.
Biography[]
When he gains intel about a sudden collpase during a mining operation, Darkwing immediately assumes Elita-1 was responsible for the accident and strips her from her rank of mining for Energon and demoted to waste management. Orion Pax scolded Darkwing for accusing Elita for the accident, pointing out that she should not be punished and admitted that he was the cause of the accident. Darkwing, however, was not convinced as he refuses to listen and when Orion attempts to discreetly flip him off, tries to punch him. D-16 takes notice of Darkwing's aggressive behavior and attempted to settle the tensions between them, only to be punched by the latter.
Darkwing soon joined with the other racers who participated in the Iacon 5000 race. He finds himself being used as a jump pad by both Orion and D-16 whom he both recognized from before and was extremely furious at the both of them. Unfortunately for Darkwing, he grew increasingly concerned about the miners again that he ended up getting trapped within a magnetic ring at an obstacle area. Because of how he was humiliated at the race, Sentinel Prime manage to break him free with an idea to help him have his revenge. While Darkwing waits for his moment, Sentinel Prime seemingly praised both Orion and D-16 and promised them lavish rewards for their efforts in the race. Unknown to both of them, however, this turn out to be a trap as Darkwing has fulfilled his step to ultimately get back at them. After Sentinel left, Darkwing arrived seconds before the duo and banishes both Orion and D-16 into the waste management sublevel 50 as revenge for what both of them did at the race. Despite their loud protests, Darkwing flies out of the level with a sarcastic remark.
Later on, Darkwing gained new orders from Sentinel Prime to force the miners to work triple time. When Ironhide, one of the miners objects to this, claiming they need a break, Darkwing threatens him, only to be punched and trapped under an arcade cabinet by a bigger and upgraded Orion, who proceeded to recruit the miners in stopping Sentinel.

Trivia[]
- Darkwing's character model was reused for the guards that encountered Orion Pax at the beginning of the movie.
- Hasbro designer Mark Maher named Darkwing as such, because his boss pointed out how he happened to resemble the Decepticon Powermaster of the same name.
- The scene of Darkwing angrily growling and shouting "MINERS!" when he sees Orion Pax and D-16 has become a meme because of "miners" being an homophone for "minors", leading to various jokes about Darkwing's questionable approach to "minors".
