Darlene Sutton is the main antagonist of the Law & Order: Special Victims Unit episode "Folly". She is a sadomasochist who manipulates her husband Gary into hiring escorts and then both brutally raping them together.
She was portrayed by Marguerite MacIntyre.
History[]
Darlene was married to Gary Sutton, and she eventually became disappointed in their sex life, so she had an affair with a delivery boy. Gary thought he was raping her but truly, Darlene manipulated Gary into believing she was a victim and assisted in the assault.
From now on, Darlene realized how much she could manipulate Gary and with her sadism not being fulfilled, she tricked him into hiring male escorts and then beating and raping them after Gary came out of the closet. After this action, they would have sex together while ignoring their incapacitated victim. Their first victim was a businessman in St. Louis, though the plan wasn't as successful as she wanted it to be,
"Folly"[]
After their first attempt was botched, Darlene and Gary started to use male prostitutes, with Gary using his position as an accountant to forge credit cards and pay them. Darlene and Gary were provided male escorts Victor Coe and Tommy Dowd by madam Leslie DeSantis, but Tommy survived the attack while Victor was left in a coma and presumably died later on. They stayed at the hotel after assaulting Tommy and were even questioned by Olivia Benson and Elliot Stabler about what they might have witnessed. Leslie attempted to send Tommy to the Suttons to be brutally attacked, but the latter instead sent his friend Gregory Moore to cover for him, resulting in Moore being killed.
Eventually, the SVU detectives caught the couple at a hotel just as they were about to victimize another man, stopping him just as he was about to go to their room. Detectives went in the room instead and they arrested the two, Darlene angered Gary did not save her. Gary finally admitted that everything done was Darlene's idea and he only did it for her, not out of enjoyment. Darlene attempted to seduce Stabler by touching his hand but she herself was manipulated after a fake deal was made to testify against her husband. She was later imprisoned for four rapes and two counts of proxy murder.
