Dart is one of the major antagonists (alongside Kins) in the video game Brok the InvestiGator and a supporting character in DLC BROK the InvestiGator The Brawl Bar.
He is voiced by Joshua Cookingham
Appearance[]
Dart is a muscular, rat-like rat with blue hair and pointy ears adorned with side beads. This Grey rat figure has a belly button, resembling a human's. He wears a black tank top and red shorts, with tape wrapped around his arms and tail.
Personality[]
Dart is fiercely loyal to his boss and is committed to achieving their goals. Although he comes across as a brute, he adheres to a personal code of honor, which forbids him from taking the life of another person. This principle is put to the test when he witnesses the horrified Kin accidentally cross the line, resulting in an unexpected death. In DLC, he is shown in a bar, deep in thought. He even shares his aspirations, which is even more honorable. When he sees Brok again, he won't fight; instead, he shows a picture of his dream to become a wrestler.
Biography[]
Chapter 1[]
Dart and Kin head to confront Tramp about the money he owes them, but their plans are interrupted when Brok attacks a defenseless man nearby. A fight ensues, forcing Dart and Kin to retreat to report back to their boss. As they navigate the dark sewers searching for clues, they stumble upon self-regenerating mines, which they carefully avoid.
Soon, Brok encounters the Squealers and their leader. One of the Squealers informs their boss that he was the one who defeated Dart and Kin. The leader expresses his disappointment in their failure to overcome Brok, prompting them to look for something important that belongs to them. They rationalize their presence in the sewers as a public right, claiming the government exiled them. A battle ensues, and after a tough fight, Brok manages to defeat the Squealers. After dealing with the minions, the leader approaches Brok for a duel, but he is ultimately defeated.
Chapter 3[]
Dart and Kin return to claim the money owed to them by Tramp. However, before they can do that, they decide to ambush Brok outside and warn Tramp that the Squealers are after him and that they’ve been messing up. Despite this, Brok stands firm, ready to defend Tramp, confident that he can take on whatever comes their way.
After the confrontation, Brok heads to Backstreet in search of the hacker. He soon finds himself tangled in another fight with Dart and Kin, who are determined to bring him down. In a surprising turn of events, Brok surrenders, but Dart doesn’t hold back and knocks him out cold.
As Dart and Kin prepare to take Brok to their boss, time seems to reverse momentarily, causing Brok to lose track of what just happened. When things settle back into place, he finds himself again on the quest to find the hacker, determined to uncover the truth behind the chaos that’s been unfolding.
Chapter 4[]
In Backstreet at night, Brok encounters the Squealers once more, instantly plunging into a fight against them. As the chaos unfolds, Graff arrives on the scene, searching for Brok. He quickly assesses the situation and steps in to help Brok, overpowering the Squealers with ease.
After the brawl, amid the confusion, Dart starts to remember his previous encounter with Brok. Realizing he has no choice, he surrenders, handing over the phone along with the money he owes.
Final Chapter[]
The Chief issued a new order: Dart and Kin were to kidnap Graff and Ott, bringing them into the depths of the sewer for safekeeping. Following orders, they successfully captured both Graff and Ott and transported them to the grimy tunnels.
Endings[]
In the canonical ending, Dart and the Chief make their way to the Hacker’s hiding spot, intent on collecting the money owed to them. As they approach, the Hacker panics and tries to conceal himself, Dart who lunges forward and drags the Hacker out of his hiding place.
In the "Fall Ending," Chief is killed by Brok. With the Chief now dead, Dart sees this as an opportunity and expresses his desire to take over as the next leader.
BROK the InvestiGator - The Brawl Bar[]
After overcoming several challenges, Brok is surprised to spot Dart at the bar. Dart immediately tells Brok to leave, but Brok engages him again, curious about why Dart is there. He asks if he's the only Squaler in the area, and Dart confirms that he is. He explains that the bar is neutral territory, a place where he can think without interference, as no one else, including his boss, is around. Brok recalls their previous encounter, noting that he and the Squaler attacked first, but Dart reminds him that they actually met in the sewers. Brok insists that Dart would have to work around him. Dart retorts that in their situation, they need to move whenever they're told not to, referring to the Squaler sewer territory. Brok knows about the Squaler's history of violence, including an attempted murder on Tramp, but Dart only got involved because Tramp didn't pay them. While Brok thinks of them as "killers," Dart argues that he isn't one; he wasn't there when they tried to overthrow the government years ago. Dart believes they can resolve their differences, even though fighting in a bar is off the table, so they decide to arm wrestle instead. Brok accepts the challenge, stating that if he wins, Dart has to leave, but he stops and wants to talk it out. Brok admits he might have gone too far recently, acknowledging that he can be harsh when someone gets in his way during a mission, but he holds nothing personal against Dart. He emphasizes that people are complicated, but he chooses to seek alternatives to hurting others. Brok expresses concern that if he hadn't intervened, Dart could have killed an innocent man. Dart confesses he feels trapped by his chief's orders and, believing he won't survive long, thinks it's better to take what he can now.
Brok counters by asking whether a handful of units is truly worth someone's life, and challenges Dart to consider whether anyone in his life matters enough for him to change his approach. As they continue to argue, Brok reflects on his recent decisions and the disastrous outcomes they've brought, but he acknowledges that Dart is putting up a fierce fight. Dart thanks Brok for being honorable and even shows off his impressive biceps, claiming he can carry four times his weight. Brok observes that Dart's muscles are pretty remarkable, a true powerhouse. Dart shares his reason for training every day: to handle any challenges that come his way and protect his friends. Brok notices pictures of Dart's dream of becoming a professional wrestler displayed in the VR cabin. He understands the aspiration, noting that the closure of the pits due to constant surveillance by bots has made it hard for Dart to chase his dream. Despite the obstacles, Brok recognizes Dart's determination to achieve his goal and hopes for a future in which he can showcase his wrestling to fans. Dart thanks Brok once again for understanding his struggles.
