Darth Luft is an antagonist in Star Wars: Legends. He is a member of the One Sith who flees following the death of Darth Krayt and becomes the leader of a pirate syndicate over the dead world of Dac before being killed by Jao Assam.
Biography[]
Darth Luft is a Sith Lord who was formerly a member of the One Sith until they were defeated in the Second Imperial Civil War. Following this, he fled to the dead planet of Dac, where he resurfaced as the leader of a pirate syndicate that would lure Mon Calamari and Quarren travellers to Dac and kidnap them before forcing them to become slaves. They would be used to build ships for the pirates to use.
After encountering Ania Solo, who is searching for the rogue Sith Darth Wredd (an enemy of his), Luft personally jettisons an escape pod containing her and her companions into the poisoned oceans of Dac after telling them that Wredd is not in the Dac system. After being rescued, one of her companions (named Jao Assam) warns his master of the pirates led by Luft, resulting in a fleet of Imperial Knights being sent to deal with him.
A slave named Tikin informs Luft of Jao's location in the hope that Luft will release his son. Luft comments "That's one possibility" before murdering Tikin in cold blood, sparking a slave uprising. After it is quelled, Luft orders for many of the slaves to be murdered along with their families. The task force then arrives and engages in combat with the pirates (preventing the executions) while Luft fights Jao in a lightsabre duel. Eventually, Luft gains the upper hand and traps Jao under a piece of wreckage before attacking two Imperial cadets. When he is about to kill them, Jao reemerges and kills the Sith by stabbing him in the back.
