Dasyatis is a major antagonist of the french comic book series The Legendaries of its spin-off Origins Volume 3: Gryfenfer, having also appeared in the sequel of the main series World Without. He was formerly a famous monslave Eisleymos working for Mongo the Big. He later on murdered his former master to join Darkhell’s and his daughter’s side.
Appearance[]
Dasyatis appears to be monster with grey carapaces on top of her dark eyes, the back of her head, her chest area and waist. Being part of an unknown but presumably aquatic species, she possesses webbing on her hands, arms and legs. She has a very low height that is estimated to be only equal to size of a ten year old child. She also possesses two large and long tentacles with what it seem to be orange-colored deadly spikes containing poisons in it, to which Dasyatis use it to pierce into her victims’ body as well as having also seemingly wings on her back that almost touches the floor. She has white-colored skin with sky-blue colored shapes across her body, including her tentacles.
Sometimes she can hides her mouth with by using her carapace presumably.
Personality[]
Being presumably the strongest monslave to ever live, Dasytis shows absolutely never show any emotions and is very cold-hearted and has no mercy whatsover when murdering his opponents. She is however very close to the Dark Sorcerer’s daughter Tenebris, being very loyal and protective to her. She almost never lets word out of her but enjoys and has the pleasure at taking lives of others.
Background[]
It is unknown where or how Dasyatis became a monslave and started working for Mongo the Big. She became so strong and unbeatable that she became a legend among the arena and even the city of Eisleymos .
One of the rule of monslave, is that they can gain freedom if they are able to gain a specific amount of points that lets them to be freed. Unsurprisingly, Dasyatis has already gained way more than enough point to be freed, but chose to continue to fight in the arena, as killing is one of her greatest hobby. This also made his master insanly rich.
Biography[]
Origins Volume 3: Gryfenfer[]
At sometime into the story, when Samael begged his master to give a Gryfenfer a second chance by declaring that he is gonna face Dasyatis. The fight is finished in a disaster for Samael, where he is seen to have been stabbed through the body by one of Dasyatis’ tentacles and his Mongo the Big is seen laughing due the loss of his opponent’s monslave.
Furious, Gryfenfer breaks out from the bar to venge his friend and got hit by the Jaguarian in the face, making Dasyatis furious. However the fight is stopped by Menthos before anything worse can happen. Once the combat took an end, she and Mongo the Big takes their reward and left. She then starts working alongside Tenebris and also meets Raptor who was also a former monslave, upon joining her father’s army. She easily gains the title of Shadow in a very short amount of time.
Origins Volume 4: Razzia[]
4 years later, she makes his next appearance in the Volume 5 of the Origins series: Razzia. She is seen in a duel against Raptor inside a part of the Casthell castle where they’re viewed by dragonites. Soon after, she is defeated Raptor as Tenebris comes back from her mission alongside Korbo. She joins her master and bites her partner due to her being approached by Korbo.
Days later, Tenebris and Korbo arrives at the kingdom of Cymbalia where they are assigned to meet the Absalon king as part of their diplomatic mission. Dasyatis on the other hand, hides inside a status that Darkhell sends to the city. At night Dasyatis comes out of her hiding spot. The next morning the kingdom is invaded by dragonites, while Dasyatis found the egg of the god, which acts as the source of the protector dome of the city. She eliminate the monk wizards who were in charge of protecting the source, before facing the king Absalon. She quickly defeats him and takes the egg with her. As the king makes another attempt to stop Dasyatis he is however attacked by surprised by his son Larsen who betrayed him, to which Dasyatis who does not sees as a threat and leaves. Dasyatis leaves the building and runs through the battle between while frightening the citizens he pass through. She joins Tenebris where at the moment that Korbo declares that he quits and is no longer part of Darkhell’s army. Devastated Tenebris burst in tear as she is taken away by Dasyatis who knows it won’t be necessary to take Korbo back with them. Dasyatis and Tenebris’ mission is completed upon arriving to Darkhell and is immediately sent to a new mission. She is sent to Astria to capture an Elementary Elf, where she is soon after seen in the forest of Astria with her confronting the Elementary Elf Shimy.
About 2 years later, with the failed attempt on kidnapping the princess Jadina and the death of a death of Darkhell’s general Raptor. The Darkhell asks her daughter to carefully chose who to lead the expedition to make another attempt on capturing the princess, to which she choses Dasyatis.
A year later, the Legendaries comes to Shimy the Elementary Elf’s rescue where she was tortured for about a year now by Darkhell. Dasyatis and Tenebris confront Gry (again), Jadina and Danael who had Shimy with them and engages in a battle.
It is unknown what happens after, other than Dasyatis dies for unknown.
