Dauros is a member of the Decepticon Pretenders, a trio of Decepticons who assumed forms based on monsters from Earth's mythologies, and a major antagonist in Transformers: Super-God Masterforce.
He was voiced by the late Daisuke Gōri, who also voiced Dozle Zabi in Mobile Suit Gundam and later voiced Violen Jiger in the Transformers: Zone OVA.
Biography[]
Dauros and cohorts Blood and Gilmer were originally a trio of Decepticons who were pursued throughout space by the Autobot Metalhawk and his team. Crashlanding on Earth in the ancient past, the three all became Pretenders by assuming monstrous alternative forms and began terrorizing the humans on the planet. The monstrous forms the trio all assumed would lead to tales of mythical creatures spreading among the humans, with Dauros's form inspiring legends about the minotaur. Eventually, all three were defeated and sealed away by Metalhawk and his companions, restoring peace to the planet.
However, the Decepticon Pretenders were all later unsealed by the super energy being Devil Z and recruited into his army of Decepticons, which included humans bonded to Transformer bodies, to aid him in creating the ultimate lifeform. Over the course of the show, Dauros would feud several times with Blood over who got to lead the Pretenders, though Blood remained in charge.
Dauros and the other Pretenders were last seen fleeing after Devil Z unleashed his wrath upon Hydra & Buster for their failures and did not appear again after Devil Z's destruction. Thus, it is unknown if they at some point joined the Decepticons under Overlord that fled to space or remained on Earth.
