The Dead End Gang are the antagonists in the 1991 beat 'em up arcade game Vendetta.
Story[]
For years, the Dead End Gang has terrorized Dead End City. No one stands in their way except for their rivals: the Cobras. The Cobras are a benevolent gang of fighters who seek to restore peace and order in Dead End City. They are the only ones keeping the Dead End Gang from taking full control over the city.
One day, the Dead End Gang kidnaps Kate; a member of the Cobras. They send a message to the Cobras, saying that if they want Kate back, they will need to rescue her. After receiving the message, the Cobras head out on a journey through Dead End City.
The Dead End Gang begins their attack in the Cobras' territory. Minions, from the the Dead End Gang, attack with clubs and motorcycles but are defeated. The Cobras board the back of a truck en route to another part of the city. Buzzsaw Bravado, the first member of the Dead End Gang, is waiting. He attacks with a buzz saw but is easily defeated. After his defeat, Bravado begs for mercy and suggests that Kate is at the construction site in the uptown area.
The Cobras departs from the truck at the construction site. The Humane Weapon, the second member of the Dead End Gang, is aware of their presence. He has more minions attack them. They are stronger in that they can throw heavy objects and wield weapons. Some of them are able to blow fire. The Cobras manage to defeat the minions and descend into a basement. There, they find Kate gagged and tied up. Before they can do anything to help her, the Humane Weapon breaks out out a cage and attacks them. Due to his superior size and strength, he is more of a challenge than Buzzsaw Bravado. Because of this, the Cobras resort to constantly attacking him. Eventually, Buzzsaw is damaged to the point where he collapses from exhaustion. Before any of the Cobras can rescue Kate, a small man jumps out of nowhere and carries her away. They chase him to the downtown district of Dead End City.
As it turns out, the man is Freddy the Freak, one of the Rude Brothers. He and his brother are the owners of a casino as well as members of the Dead End Gang. Forced to follow Freddy downtown, the Cobras end up in a street filled with more minions. Many of them fight with garbage bins, chains. or any random items that are available in the area. After moving through the streets, the Cobras enter the casino and head towards the back. There, they encounter the Rude Brothers. The smaller brother is an acrobat relying on speed while the bigger brother uses defense. Despite the brothers' skills and teamwork, they are still defeated. One of them says that Kate must have been taken to the waterfront.
