Vi: E-Eeep! What the HECK is THAT!?
Leif: It's monitoring the area. Looking for things to... devour?

~ Team Snakemouth on Dead Lander Ω.

Dead Lander Ω is a minor antagonist of the 2019 role-playing video game Bug Fables: The Everlasting Sapling. It is a massive Dead Lander that dwells in the Giant's Lair, an abandoned human house in which the Everlasting Sapling is hidden, and stalks travelers to toy with them by dropping smaller Dead Landers at them to see them fight.

Biography[]

Not much is known about Dead Lander Ω and how it came into being. It's implied that it appeared ever since the day of reckoning, which banished the "giants", or humans, from this world, while insects developed sapience and formed their own society.

Team Snakemouth encounters Dead Lander Ω during their travels through the Giant's Lair. The moment they enter the main area, Dead Lander Ω immediately sensed their presence and approached them as soon as possible, patrolling the area to find them. Whenever it finds them, it then immediately proceeds to drop Dead Lander γ on them to watch them fight it, presumably for its own amusement. It also repeatedly relocates itself whenever Team Snakemouth walks out of the area it patrols, and at several points actually hindered their progress, such as by blocking the spring shroom that is required for them to proceed to the next area with its hand, until Team Snakemouth distracts it by dropping a rock from the nearly box. It also used the red crystal that is very reminiscent of the save crystals to lure Team Snakemouth into false sense of security. Though the red crystal was capable of healing the team, it also attracts Dead Lander Ω's attention, who immediately focuses its attention on the crystal (and, by extension, the team) when they use it. Dead Lander Ω stops following Team Snakemouth once they reach the fridge, but resumes its activities when they return to its area.

Trivia[]

  • A silhouette of Dead Lander Ω can be seen through the Eliascope in the Bee Kingdom Hive's balcony when looked to the right of the house, behind the misty tall grass. It appears to be much larger than in the Giant's Lair. According to the developers, it's Dead Lander Ω's canonical size, while its in-game size was made with a purpose of making it fit in the screen.
  • According to the developers, there is only one Dead Lander Ω in the game. It also has more than two eyes and two arms. The developers had also confirmed that Dead Lander Ω is not an ally or master of the Dead Landers, and they fear it as much as heroes do.
