Dead Master is the deuteragonist from Black Rock Shooter 2012 anime. She is the Other-self of Yomi Takanashi
She was voiced by Miyuki Sawashiro in Japanese and Suzie Yeung in English.
Appearance[]
Dead Master is a girl with pale skin turning to green. green eyes with the characteristic white circular pattern of the other-selves. She has black hair reaching towards his shoulders and two green horns that resemble vertebrae bending inward.
She wears a dark green backless gothic dress with white ruffles at the hem, other white and green ruffles at the ends of the dress's sleeves, and a white knotted ribbon adorning the left side of her waist. She wears short dark green trousers reaching to her knees with two green ribbons tied at the ends. She wears dark green shoes with green soles.
She also wears a veil of thin green fabric coming to transparency over her head, a green choker, and a pair of glasses with a green frame. On his back are two thin, folded green wings, she also wears a pair of black skeleton gloves with green claws on the tips.
Personality[]
Despite the enormous enigma in her personality, Dead Master is seen with regret and melancholy visible on her face for most of the series until she fiercely fights Black Rock Shooter, mirroring Yomi's personal struggles. She also shows an apparent view of her life as meaningless once he freed himself from Chariot's forced control, which is somewhat ironic given that like the other other-selves, she cares about his original.
Synopsis[]
In the 1st episode, Dead Master binds Black Rock Shooter with chains that she generates, while Chariot fought against the latter mentioned. Then in the second episode, he interrupts Black Rock Shooter, who had avoided Chariot, then ties her with more chains until she is tight, but Black Rock Shooter ends up spinning around the chains, freeing himself from them and counterattacking with a kick to Dead Master's chest. After that, a heart carved on her chest is shown and then, she is carried by Chariot's macaroon-shaped insects. Later, Dead Master is seen in Chariot's mansion, unconscious and inside a large deteriorated doll and tied by chains to a heart in the sky. During the fight between Black Rock Shooter and Chariot, Dead Master awakens and breaks her heart with the chains that bind her to him, also destroying Chariot's world and giving Black Rock Shooter the opportunity to attack Chariot. But the destruction of Chariot's world is stopped by Black Gold Saw, who drives Dead Master into a fissure, separating her from Black Rock Shooter.
In episode 4, Dead Master gradually descends into a chain vortex in his own world. Unbeknownst to her, Black Gold Saw is watching her from afar. The chain vortex then explodes, giving rise to numerous pillars, hordes of skeletal soldiers, and a throne for the Dead Master that make up their world. Dead Master, now armed with her Dead Scythe, is the last to emerge as she steps forward and sends one of her skulls to strike down Black★Rock Shooter. Then Dead Master and his army of the dead loom before Black★Rock Shooter. After Black Rock Shooter holds off Dead Master's undead horde, he then directly confronts Dead Master, stabbing him with Black Blade to which Dead Master responds with a kick, and then Black Rock Shooter responds with a punch, then they are about to attack each other. A few minutes later, the battle between Black Rock Shooter and Dead Master continues, however Dead Master is stabbed again, dying as Black Rock Shooter becomes destabilized. Off-screen, his corpse is carried by Strength to a pit where several of the corpses of various Other-selves are dumped.
At the end of episode 7, Dead Master is seen inside the pit full of corpses and apparently trying to wake up, having been killed by Black Rock Shooter earlier.
In episode 8, Dead N appears inside her world, praying as his world moves, then as Mato and Insane Black Rock Shooter fight, Dead Master appears between one of the lights, helping Mato. After Insane Black Rock Shooter is defeated, Dead Master watches Mato and a dying Strength.

- Skulls: Related to his necromancy ability, Dead Master can control two skulls
- Chain Manipulation: Dead Master can generate long and countless chains, with which he can bind his opponent, strangle him and/or protect himself.
