The Deadmans are a demon-worshipping cult and the main antagonists of Kamen Rider Revice, the third Reiwa era Kamen Rider installment.
They seek to resurrect Giff, the pagan ancestor of the demons, and use his power to spread chaos throughout the world. In place of Giff, the Deadmans are led by a mysterious woman named Aguilera, the fiancée of Giff.
History[]
The Deadmans were founded by former members of the government research organization "NOAH" who stole the casket of Giff and began worshipping it. Under the leadership of a mysterious individual, they sought to usher in the demon's return.
To reawaken Giff, the Deadmans began grooming a young girl to become his untainted bridal sacrifice as an adult, giving her the name "Aguilera" and raising her under the belief that she would one day become Giff's bride. Needing five "Gifftex" Deadmen to complete the ritual to revive Giff, the Deadmans began searching for individuals capable of becoming a Phase 3 Deadman. The Deadmans founder would personally approach a young man and invite him to join the cult, with him taking on the name "Orteca" at some point after he joined. Orteca would become the first of the Gifftex needed for the ritual, followed by Julio at some point after he was recruited.
To find more candidates, the Deadmans broke into the Fenix base and stole the Proto Vistamps that had been engineered from the Giff Stamp. They would begin passing out the Vistamps to individuals who showed promise and instructed them to use them to summon their inner demons as "Deadmen". This led to the Fenix organization developing the Revice Driver as a way to harness the Vistamps in order to become a Kamen Rider and fight the Deadmans. Some time after the Driver's creation however, the Chameleon Deadman, on order of Orteca, killed Fenix commander Yujiro Wakabayashi and mimicked his form to infiltrate the organization.
After Aguilera created the Mammoth Deadman from a convicted criminal, she led an assault on the Fenix ceremony unveiling the Revice Driver, during which the Rex Deadman was created from a random civilian and assisted the Mammoth Deadman in causing chaos. However, the two Deadmen were destroyed by Ikki Igarashi and his contract demon Vice after they used the Revice Driver to become Kamen Rider Revice.
Around the same time the Chameleon Deadman became on the cusp of evolving into a Gifftex, the Deadmans found two other Gifftex candidates in Amahiko Haitani and Yasushi Kudo. All three were put in front of Giff and approved as Gifftex. After the Chameleon Deadman stole the Giff Stamp from Fenix and Aguilera was prepped for her wedding to Giff, the five Gifftex tied Aguilera to a chair in front of Giff's idol and stood around her to begin the ritual. The ritual was interrupted by Fenix, who had located the Deadmans Base through a tracker on the Giff Stamp. In the ensuing confrontation, Haitani and Kudo were defeated by the Igarashi siblings and absorbed into Giff, followed by the Deadmans Base sprouting tentacles to attack the city. After Revi and Vice rescued Aguilera and Julio before the ritual could be completed and destroyed the Deadmans Base, Orteca and the Chameleon Deadman exited the scene. Aguilera meanwhile would steal the Queen Bee Vistamp from Fenix and use to become the Queen Bee Deadman and teleport her and Julio away.
While the group was left in shambles, Orteca was able to use a contact to gather the scattered Deadmans believers and rally them to continue on their quest. Aguilera meanwhile decided to leave the cult, unhappy that Orteca had tried to use her as a sacrifice, and revive Giff on her own, with Julio staying loyal to her. Aguilera would eventually align herself with the cult again however, in order to usher in Giff's revival.
