Dean Collins is a fictional character and major antagonist of the British soap opera EastEnders. He merely appeared as a supporting antagonist in 1999.

The character is portrayed by Keith-Lee Castle.

Biography[]

Dean Collins first came to Albert Square in Walford, a fictional borough in East London, in mid June 1999.

It quickly emerged that he was somewhat acquainted with local barmaid, Nina Harris, from the past and that he used to be her abusive ex-client when she previously worked as a prostitute. Soon Dean begins to terrorize Nina to the point of blackmailing her for money and sex. Eventually she rejects him and Dean decides to confront her at The Queen Victoria public house. Later on he confronts her, but this prompts her friend Beppe Di Marco to intervene on her behalf. Beppe, a force police officer, overpowers Dean and forces him to leave Nina alone; Dean relents but vows retribution on Nina.

Soon enough, Dean begins stalking Nina and finds out that she is having a relationship with local hardman Grant Mitchell. Later on he confronts Nina again and threatens to expose her past. When Grant sees how uncomfortable Nina is around Dean, he confronts Dean and prepares to throw him out. Dean thereupon exposes Nina's past to Grant, who then chucks Dean out of the pub before confronting Nina and ending their relationship.

Thereafter Dean's actions would result in Grant and Beppe, both of whom are sworn enemies with each other, to have a fight over Nina when they react differently to the revelation of her past.

Trivia[]

  • It is left unknown how many appearences he made during his time on the show.
