DeeBees, or DBs for short, are the main antagonists of the Love, Death & Robots episode "Suits".
Appearance[]
DeeBees are four-legged blue insectoids with arms and legs that end in sharp appendages they can use to stab their prey. Their faces lack any features other than a row of sharp teeth.
Biography[]
In colonized domes on an alien planet, one agricultural dome comes under attack by feral alien natives called DeeBees, which come in to attack and feed on the farmer's cattle. Hank takes it upon himself to gear up in a large mechanical suit to attack the DeeBees that manage to penetrate the dome's shield and enter into it. Hank manages to defeat the DeeBees that attack his cattle, but only one cow was able to be rescued from the hungry DeeBees. Suddenly, a massive penetration in the dome comes up, with Hank and his friends Jake and Crazy Mel take upon themselves to stop the DeeBees as Hank and Jake's wives Beth and Helen have everyone else take refuge in their bunkers.
Once the massive swarm of DeeBees enter through the dome, the three use their mechs' guns, missile launchers, and flamethrowers to take out a chunk of them. However, the swarm keeps coming with no stop, forcing the group to fall back. Once all of the families are within the bunker, the three are ordered by Beth to retreat. While Hank and Crazy Mel are able to make it, Jake's mech's lack of speed makes it fall to the swarm. Hank tries to rescue his friend, but Jake accepts his defeat and blows out his reactor, causing an explosion that wipes out a majority of the swarm at the cost of his life.
Just then, a massive DeeBee emerges from the portal that Hank nicknames the Big One. Hank orders Beth to open the missile cannon as he tries to hold back the Big One, dealing little to no damage to it due to its enhanced exoskeleton armor. Crazy Mel arrives but is quickly incapacitated when the Big One tosses her into a barn. As Beth tries to use the cannon, a DeeBee enters the house and lunges at her, but Helen shoots it and takes upon herself to guard Beth. Hank comes up with a plan for Beth to use the cannon to shoot the Big One in the mouth, using Jake's scarecrow to anchor himself. Beth manages to find an opening and fires a missile straight down the Big One's throat, killing it instantly.
Once morning comes, the dome is repaired and all remaining DeeBees inside have been wiped out. The farmers share a toast to honor Jake's sacrifice. However, their battle is far from over, as billions of more DeeBees are outside the dome attempting to break through its barriers.
