Clauddine "Dee Dee" Blanchard[1] is the main antagonist of the 2019 Hulu true crime drama series The Act.
Based on the real Dee Dee Blanchard, the Blanchard from the series also claimed her daughter Gypsy had leukemia and sleep apnea, and would regularly shave her head and give her perscriptions in order to make her appear weaker and more sickly than she really was. This was all due to a result of several small injuries that Gypsy had had over the first 8 years of her life, and Dee Dee becoming obsessed with her safety. Since then, she would fake Gypsy's ilnesses in order to get more money and sympathy from the public, and act abusive towards Gypsy when she stepped out of line. This is what pushed Gypsy into asking Nick Godejohn to kill Dee Dee.
She was portrayed by Patricia Arquette.
