Deimos (Call of Duty)

Deimos is the main antagonist of the Nightmares mode of the 2015 first-person shooter Call of Duty: Black Ops III.

Biography[]

Deimos and his sister Dolos were born to the King of Malum sometime in Malum. In 2060, he and Dolos were summoned by The Corvus Project where Deimos merged both Nova-6 and Element-115 together, forming Virus 61-15. He went into hiding in Singapore until 10 years later, in 2070, he possessed John Taylor, Sarah Hall, Jacob Hendricks, Sebastian Diaz and Peter Maretti and used them to reopen the quarantine zones across the world. He would then try to reopen the gateway to Malum so he could finally kill Dolos and rule over Malum.

2075[]

Five years later, he had nearly taken over more then half the Earth. He possessed Taylor's Team and hid the aquafires Cairo. Later, The Player discovered Taylor hiding out and got information from Maretti. Deimos, in retaliation for Maretti's death, tried profusely to take control over The Player, but was unsuccessful. The Player eventually found Taylor and tried to subdue him, but failed and was about to be killed, but Taylor broke free of the mind control of Deimos and ripped out his DNI, fatally wounding him and soon being executed by Hendricks.

Deimos, while controlling Hendricks, traveled to the Coalescence Corporation and reeked havoc across the city in order to kill The Player and Rachel Kane. Deimos, however managed to trap Kane inside of a chamber room and unleashed enough Virus 61-15 to kill her. Later, The Player confronted a Deimos controlled Hendricks, who was holding Sebastian Krueger at gunpoint. Deimos then controlled Hendricks into killing both Krueger and The Player, which was successful, but resulted in the death of Hendricks. Deimos then pulled The Player's mind and manipulated her into opening the gateway to Malum.

Deimos then pretended to be Yousef Salim, guiding her through her memories up until her death. However, the plan backfired as The Player started questioning herself and Deimos was forced to reveal himself. When coming to the final memory Deimos made the Player change the memory so that instead of both her and Hendricks shooting each other, she would shoot first and the sacrifice herself to open the portal. Dolos told the Player to do as Deimos said and told her that it would be alright. The Player then committed suicide, opening the gateway.

Deimos is shocked to see The Player still alive, and tries to kill her and Dolos. However, The Player destroys all of Deimos's hearts and tried to kill her, but was held down by an illusion of Taylor and was subsequently erased from existence.
