Deirdre Norris is the secondary antagonist of the Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior episode "Smother". Deirdre is the emotionally and sexually abusive mother of Trevor Norris, as well as his accomplice in a series of murders.
She is portrayed by Kate Burton, who also portrayed Annette Cole in Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.
Biography[]
Deirdre molested Trevor for years since he was very little, which included breastfeeding him as long as to age 7, humming each time she exploited him so he'd know she was coming. Child Services were informed, but they couldn't find a legal statute to charge Deirdre on, and Trevor ended up bullied at school. After Trevor raped and brutalized Reagan, a classmate he stalked and was sent to juvie, he was released at age 18 and returned to live with Deirdre because of not knowing where to go next. Deirdre would constantly try to make Trevor dependent on her emotionally, but as he was always angry at her and wanted to murder, she decided to take her rage out on him by insulting him and making him feel less than nothing because she didn't get what she wanted from him every chance she got. Trevor decided to kill mothers. Instead selling Trevor out, Deidre delighted in the idea of having leverage over him by being an accomplice, in the hopes of dominating him at home because he couldn't beat her with violence.
The Norrises eventually kidnapped three mothers with babies separately, Trevor tortured them to death, and Deirdre cleaned and dressed their corpses before lying them with their hands folded in an open field. by the time the Red Cell Team were called, they estimated the sort of place the women would be found and compromised the burial field. Deirdre and Trevor have another argument, and when Trevor says he doesn't need her when she tries to seduce and manipulate him again, Deirdre bitterly taunts he'll come back to her. Trevor spontaneously kidnaps another mother, with her infant son. While Trevor tortures the mother, Deirdre finds the son and, finally fed up with Trevor, decides to drive off with him and hold him captive as a new baby to raise. Trevor's arrested when trying to escape, and when he says she wanted to return to her own life, the police find her history in Vero Beach, Florida, and track her minivan. Stopping her at a roadblock, the police, led by Agent Sam Cooper, try to appeal to Deirdre, who says her only chance is if the baby is her new son. When Cooper tries to implore it's not over and she can reconcile with Trevor, she refuses and tries to smash through the road-block. The police stop her, she's arrested and later incarcerated with Trevor, and the baby's rescued unharmed and returned to his mother.
