The Delgado Drug Cartel is a recurring antagonistic faction in the Hitman series. They are a drug cartel that originated in Chile before they moved their entire faction to Columbia.
The cartel's second and third generations of leadership appeared in Hitman: Blood Money and HITMAN 2 respectively as targets, all assassinated by Agent 47.
History[]
1990s-2004[]
The Delgado Empire was founded in the volatile-cartel business of the 1990s in Colombia, lead by the infamous Don Delgado. With the pressure of the Colombian government on the cartels, Don Delgado's compound was bombed by the military, leaving only his wife and two sons, Héctor Delgado and his planned successor Rico Delgado alive.
Leadership soon fell to Don Delgado's brother, Fernando Xalvador Delgado, who moved the cartel to his old vineyard in Chile, planning secret drug dealing business under the cover of businessman and viner. It was presumably a countermeasure to avoid Pablo Belisario Ochoa and his forces. In 2004, Fernando, together with his eldest son, Manuel Delgado, were killed by Agent 47, under the orders of the ICA.
2004-2009[]
This caused a five-year hiatus in the history of the Delgado cartel, when Rico Delgado, Don Fernando's nephew, mysteriously infiltrated and joined the Moreno Cartel, the biggest cartel of the southern hemisphere, and one of Providence's main assets.
In 2009, Rico betrayed the Moreno Cartel and rebuilt the Delgado cartel once more, alongside his younger brother Héctor, his former uncle's chief chemist Jorge Franco, and his childhood friend Andrea Martinez. Rico, Jorge and Andrea were soon known as the cartel's Three-Headed Serpent.
2009-2019[]
Rising at an extremely fast rate in the next decade, the Delgado Cartel had expanded. They began working with IAGO, including the likes of Viktor Novikov and Dalia Margolis, and other terrorists whilst taking over South America. Andrea Martinez was presented as a recurring guest on Novikov's fashion show.
They and the Moreno Cartle remained in a stalemate for about 10 years until Rico ordered the murder of Chico, the younger cousin of the Moreno Cartel's leader Esteban Montoya. The Morenos tried to crush the Delgados for revenge, but Rico made a deal with Lucas Grey's private milliant, who claimed that he would give Rico the murderer of Fernando and Manuel Delgado. Grey's militia eventually crushed the force of Moreno cartel, causing them to retreat and announcing Delgado's victory.
After already becoming the number-one cartel of Colombia, Rico planned on making Delgado Empire the biggest cartel in the world and seeking vengeance against whoever that killed his uncle and cousin. Unfortunately for the cartel, this was once again stopped by Agent 47, who eliminated Rico, Jorge Franco and Andrea Martinez in their headquarters of Santa Fortuna, Colombia.
After the deaths of the three, Héctor Delgado was reported to become the cartel's new leader.
