Weaver had a history with Roberta, who would con various men in relationships and killed at least one of them. Weaver conceived her son, Everett, But Weaver was so furious about having a child, he once tried to drown the young Lynch in a bathtub while snarling "you should've never been born". It was buried in Lynch's memories and also haunted Roberta, who narrowly saved his life. Roberta lied to Everett that his father was dead so he and Weaver would never associate, but Robert was no better, employing Lynch in her cons until she was arrested.
Lynch's repressed memories of Weaver came back, so he sought for answers on why he was a killer by looking for Weaver. By the time of the episode, Weaver retreated into a rural home and descended into alcoholism, which his where Roberta found him. He was suspicious about her arrival after seeing private detective Orlando Gaines looking for him on Everett's behalf. Roberta bitterly recounted Lynch's crimes and blamed Weaver for nearly killing him, Weaver simply saying Lynch was her responsibility and that he was in the right believing Lynch didn't deserve to live. Enraged, Roberta shot and stabbed Weaver dozens of times. That infuriated Lynch enough to kill Roberta, and he was later killed to stop him from escaping the country.
