Dembey is a Jaryuu Clan dragon created by Ryuuwon in the image of MOE-TV's mascot of the same name and the primary antagonist in episode 37 of GoGo Sentai Boukenger.
He was voiced by Akira Ishida, who also voiced Kaworu Nagisa in Neon Genesis Evangelion, Athrun Zala in Mobile Suit Gundam SEED and Zeref Dragneel in Fairy Tail.
Biography[]
Dembey was created by Ryuuwon to resemble the MOE-TV mascot "Dembey" and was sent to infiltrate the television station in order to obtain the "Jewel of Prosperity", which was said to emit a powerful burst of energy every 100 years, so the Jaryuu Clan could harness its power to wipe out humankind. Dembey got close to Toshio Tanbara, a famous actor who wore the jewel on his ring, and ate the ring off of him, but Sakura was able to snatch it from him and put it in a containment liquid to neutralize its explosion. Dembey then fought the Boukengers and was defeated by Sakura, but was revived and enlarged by Ryuuwon. He was assisted by several enlarged Dragonoid Soldiers but was destroyed again by Voyager DaiBouken using its Riding Adventure Drive.
Personality[]
Dembey was cunning, manipulative, sneaky and unpredictable Wicked Dragon, who used a cunning and clever plan of stealing the Jewel of Prosperity and bring it to his master Ryuuwon. He was shown to be one of the most comical and funny monsters of Boukenger season and served as the comedic element of the series. He was also shown to be vengeful and wanted to get revenge on the Boukengers for ruining and foiling his masterfully directed plan. But he is also highly loyal to Ryuuwon, being completely and unediably faithful to him and viewing Ryuuwon as the ruler of the superior species.
Powers and Abilities[]
- Superhuman Strength: While not one of the most powerful monsters, Dembey is still far stronger than ordinary humans and is capable of fighting and matching the Boukengers.
- Fighting Skills: Dembey is also a proficient fighter.
- Swordsmanship: He is also a skilled swordsman.
- Fire-breathing: Dembey can attack with fire from his mouth.
