The three Demons are the main antagonists of the South Korean dark fantasy television series Hellbound (지옥), and its webtoon of the same name.

The three appear at the exact date and time that someone was prophesied to go to Hell by a disembodied face called "angel". When the time comes, the three demonic beings come and beat that person before incinerating them and taking their soul to hell.

History

"The Angel"

In the first episode, the demons materialize in a coffee shop and begin beating a man, before finally engulfing him in a white light that incinerates his body, leaving behind a pile of burned bones as they teleport away.

A church/cult called New Truth claims to understand what happened, saying that the victims of demons are sinners and deserve their fate. The New Truth doctrine eventually inspires a group of radicals known as Arrowhead. It was later revealed that Jeong Jin-soo; the leader of the church received a prophecy twenty years ago, so he created all this moral panic so that people would feel the same fear he felt. After confessing his actions to the detective Jin Kyeong-hoon, the demons appear and take Jeong to Hell.

Years later, the "angel" prophesies that a newborn baby will be the next to go to hell.

Powers

• Immortality: Demons doesn't age and they can't be killed by firearms, bullets, knives, blades and any conventionnal weapon.
• Teleportation: Demons can instantly teleport themselves anywhere.
• Superhuman strength: Demons possess a superior physical strength and can easily overpower humans.
• White Light: The Demons were able to generate a powerful white light from their hands, able to obliterate people and large areas.

Trivia

• Despite the interpretation of the new truth, the "angel" or the Demons never mention sin, and the victims seem chosen almost at random.
