Dennis Denard is one of the secondary antagonists (alongside Erick Glick and his group) of Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Hard Luck. He is a greedy businessman at Larry Mack Junior Middle School who managed to steal countless science projects with the presumed help of his group (and presumably Erick Glick as well, who is his right-hand man).
He also tried to sell Greg Heffley one of his stolen projects, and nearly managed to do so, but when Greg figured it out. Him, Erick, and one of his other cronies tried to rob Greg of his money (but they all failed to do so).
Appearance[]
Dennis appears as a teenager, with long hair, a black shirt, white pants, and black shoes, on top of this. He has 3 teeth as well, he also has a long nose, but it's possibly Greg's art style that portrays him as this way.
He also presumably has pierced ears, since he possibly got rings on them before he started his group, but once again. This is possibly just Greg's art style.
Personality[]
At first, Dennis appears genuinely friendly to Greg, as he shows him all of his stolen science projects. And was willing to sell him one of them, but when Greg noticed a project that Rodrick (his older brother) made when he was in middle school, he then refuses to buy one, which causes Dennis and two of his cronies to nearly rob him (but Greg managed to escape).
Dennis is overall intellect and manipulative, despite just being a teenager, but he is rather cowardly when the faculty members find out about his group. And his defeat of him and his group getting detention for the rest of the school year/being forced into summer school is pretty humiliating.
Biography[]
Dennis first appears in the book when him and his group get caught making fake Hero Points in the science room by the janitor, it's unknown on what happened to Dennis and his group when they were caught that time, however. It's likely that they were given detention.
Dennis then reappears when Greg goes to his secret room at the back of the school, looking for a science project for the school's Science Fair, and when Dennis takes Greg to the area in the back of the room. Greg then notices dozens of stolen science projects from the previous Science Fairs (including Rodrick's flower science project), which then caused Greg to have second thoughts of buying one, and Dennis and Erick then tried to force him into buying one, but when Greg still refuses to do so. They then try to rob him (along with another unnamed crony), but Greg manages to escape them.
A unnamed kid then tells one of the teachers about Dennis and his group off-screen, which caused their secret room to be raided by the school's faculty members, which then later caused Dennis and his group to get detention for the rest of the school year. And an trip to summer school as well.
