Derek is a minor antagonist in Season 2 of Cobra Kai. He is a small time criminal who is partners with Trey & Cruz.
He is portrayed by JC Leuyer.
Biography[]
Derek is Trey and Cruz's new companion and only appears in the episode The Moment of Truth, where it turns out that they have now been stealing wallets from the Beach Club, which also included Amanda's wallet. When Robby decides to confront them, demanding them they return the stolen wallets, a fight ensues between them. Derek hits him on the head with his paddle stick. He puts Robby in a tight headlock to keep him still, while Cruz attempts to attack Robby using a switchblade knife. However, Daniel LaRusso intervenes and disarms Cruz from his knife. Trey begins to put up a fight against Daniel with Derek and Cruz assisting him, which frees Robby from the headlock. Derek, Trey and Cruz were easily defeated by Daniel afterwards, thus saving Robby.
What happened to Derek is unknown, since he isn't seen afterwards. But, given how Trey & Cruz were put in a juvenile hall in the third season, it is highly implied he may have gotten arrested by the authorities for stealing wallets.
