Season One[]
Derek Fox was close friends with Wade and Scott and when the three discovered they could use tattoo ink mixed with liquid meteor rock, they gave themselves tattoos granting them the ability to walk through walls, they started to commit robberies. Derek was the smartest of the 3 jocks, serving as the brains of the group.
Derek later accompanied Wade and Scott to the Luthor Mansion where the three stole valuables cash, coins, precious artifacts and a computer disc. They encountered Clark Kent and Chloe Sullivan and easily disposed of both of them with Chloe landing in the hospital.
At their hideout, they watched the news but there was no mention of their robbery at the mansion and Scott was the first to figure out why they weren't on the news. Derek theorized that Lex Luthor probably didn't report the robbery because he didn't want anyone to know about the disc they stole. After checking the disc, the three discovered Lex was stealing money from his father to fund a personal project.
Wade, Derek and Scott decide to blackmail Lex to get a huge payout. Derek reminded everyone that their tattoos didn't last as long as they used to, and they needed to find a new member for their gang. The bandits later broke into the mansion again and confronted Lex demanding a million dollars in exchange for the disc. Derek and the boys later paid a visit to the Fordman's Department Store and met Whitney Fordman who currently was Smallville High's starting quarterback.
Derek and the guys invited Whitney to a party at their place that night. Clark noticed the goons and Derek asked Clark if he had a problem to which he shook his head. That night at the party, they played quarters while Wade showed Whitney their tattoo parlor and talked him into getting one. The guys later leave the party and grabbed Whitney and threw him in front of an oncoming truck. The truck phased right through Whitney and Derek and the guys cheered.
Chloe later awakened from her coma and remembered one of the burglars had a strange tattoo causing Clark to remember the men at the Fordman store. Clark went back to the Fordman store and asked a hungover Whitney about the jocks he was speaking to and to stay away from them. But Whitney ignored his warning. The following night, Derek and the gang picked Whitney up and rendezvous with Lex in a meat locker. Lex didn't actually bring the money and Derek rushed him causing Whitney to panic.
The gang realizes their time is running out and they have to leave. When Clark arrives, the meteor rock in the tattoos has rendered him helpless and the guys hit him in the head with a meat hook before vanishing through the wall. They returned to their loft where they gave a Whitney a hard time. Derek and Scott argued about keeping him in the gang, but Wade said they needed new blood.
Whitney, feeling scared, went to Clark and told him everything. They went to the jocks' loft when they weren't there and Clark found the discs with his X-ray vision. Suddenly the Intangible Jocks appeared and Wade took Clark out. While Scott stood watch over Clark, the jocks took Whitney out back where Wade held Whitney under a hanging junk car while Derek was at the controls. They planned to drop the car on Whitney crushing him but Wade would phase right through it. With help from Lex, Clark rushes off to find Whitney.
