Derica Mueller is the main antagonist in the 2015 horror/mystery comic book series, Clean Room. She is the human/demon hybrid infant niece of Astrid Mueller and illegitimate daughter of Peter Mueller, who eventually becomes the leader of the banished Demons from the Void who were left stranded on Earth and outside their dimension where she stages a chaotic, insane master plan that concludes the downfall of humanity.
Personality[]
Derica has already been shown to harbor a twisted, sadistic hatred for humanity for no other reason than spitefully under one arbitrary; "the cow goes moo", indicating she sees humans as nothing more than cattle to butcher from the moment she was born. She also grand hatred and spite against her aunt Astrid, callously cussing and swearing slurs against her and wishes nothing more than to kill her in numerous way best left unimaginable with sadistic glee.
Despite being just born, Derica is capable of formulating plans and can be seen speaking in clear sentences, though such plans she had in mind are beyond twisted, like building a bridge out of disfigured humans and corpses and takes great pride on psychologically tormenting her victims to the point of sending them to mental asylums. Despite her clear and formal mannerisms while cussing slurs, Derica still holds some instinct and mannerism to that of a baby, wanting her diaper changed and wishing to drink apple juice from a sippy cup.
Biography[]
Derica's birth origins hauled from a demonic ritual, one of which a cult organization led by a fanatic named Marcus Webber led the procession that sees several volunteered members, Peter Mueller being one of them, into giving birth to babies after possessing and violating them with each other, only for the entity demons to take incarnation onto them and becoming said baby. Out of all of them, Derica was the most noted to have tear off the breasts of her own mother after she was born according to Webber's statement.
At some point, Derica managed to get in contact with her other fellow demons and their kindred following her birth, thus becoming their leader and mastermind of setting up their latest scheme in sending humanity into a spiraling fit of chaos and insanity. Derica also had a habit of sending visions of her kindred and deceased loved ones onto other people, especially with Chloe Pierce, a journalist, who had just lost her husband via suicide, continuously doing so for no other reason than just to spite her. Derica's psychological torment eventually sent her victims into mental asylums and mental wards, as well as soldiers, by simply going after everyone they loved, then soon has her demonic kin go about infiltrating her aunt's organization to begin further steps.
Upon Astrid finding out about Peter's illegitimate daughter through one of her high-ranked members and ally, Capone, she requested her staff to have the baby retrieved from his apartment to their surprise, though they had to go on cautiously obtaining her once they found out that she is a demon. As Derica was placed into the Clean Room, Astrid takes Chloe to where her infant niece was playing with her alphabet blocks and commenting how Derica looks like a "beautiful baby girl" with no certainties, Derica reveals a portion of her true form to Chloe, and then she proceeds to showcase her psychokinetic technique by brainwashing a guard into shooting himself, which Derica did so without any need of bullets. After killing the guard, she taunts Chloe, stating that "Phillip says hello". While at the same time, awaited the arrival of Artus Greenhand.
Derica then proceeds to speak out of her twisted plans for humanity, wishing to replicate the Golden Bridge made out of humans, one of which sees thousands of them tied, stitched, and merged with the bridge for her demonic brethren to walk onto for the sake of it. When a distraught Chloe asks Derica why she did it and why her kind hates humanity altogether, Derica simply says that the "cow goes moo", thus holding a cow block. As Chloe begins weeping on how evil Derica sounded, the infant proceeds to taunt Chloe about her firstborn baby when she was pregnant and how she and Phillip lost it during the time he committed suicide after, and then proceeds to use the guard's corpse that had Phillip's voice inside, admitting herself and her brethren to be the ones sending Chloe those visions. Eventually, Astrid had Derica neutralized for the time being and kept in isolation in a single crib within the catacombs.
Once in the crib, Derica wakes up and tries to play onto Astrid's emotions in the image of playing a baby longing for affection, which Astrid simply doesn't fall for her antics. Derica then goes about ranting wishing to rule over elsewhere and instead being banished here on Earth, despising every moment of humanity before coming to tell her aunt about her plans in mind. Derica fleshes out every detail of her insane plan, starting with her brethren shutting off all electronics and gadgetry via cutting the internet off, driving them distressed without any internet until they decide to put the power back on for only one channel and program to air with no other means to chat or email. Then the second step was to cause as many bus crashes globally with dozens to hundreds being the total, most of them being school buses full of children. The third step involves telekinetically dragging planes down onto populated cities from Minsk to Motown, then unforeseeable attacks that sees people falling off the ground and choking out blood, most of them being women and children.
Her latest step forward then moves to the US President announcing a state of martial law and kills his own wife on live television in the head, which only then humanity would come to believe everything happening before them is done onto themselves, beginning the chaotic downfall of the species as Derica envisioned while admitting how many were psychologically tormented by her and her brethren, and as soon as Astrid leaves once she realizes how she torments her victims, Derica demanded her diaper changed and cussing her. Unfortunately, with the plan set into motion, Derica has her demonic pawns in disguise attack and kill every person connected to the members of the Mueller Organization, having Dr. Suichi slit by the throat and another member was killed, then the killings escalated until Anika, the hospitalized friend of Astrid's, was also targeted. The only one managing to escape was Capone, who was able to deduce something felt off and was able to rescue Anika in time from one of the demons.
As the casualties continued inside the building to four more victims, Astrid ordered the entire staff to evacuate and make it home safe to their loved ones while she resorts to ending the schemes Derica unfolded, first starting with taking care of Artus Greenhand. Eventually, the phase of starting a power outage by cutting off the internet began, which sees innocent civilians in a neighborhood feeling distressed while having an elderly woman's hand maimed off, then a demon disguised as a child framing a young woman named Melanie for the assault. Derica soon wakes up from her nap when the leader of the cult responsible for her birth, Webber, approaches her and states his loyalty for her, revealing her had a visioned image of her until the cult leader picked her up, demanding to be taken to her aunt Astrid. Derica sadistically unveils wanting to kill her in numerous ways possible and imaginable before on a whim would kill for another nap.
Guiding Webber into the right direction and conversing on their way to Astrid's location, all while Webber revealing his scarred face was to emulate the demons and create a visage, Derica gives him the honors of killing Astrid by ripping her heart out, not before taking up another whim on wanting apple juice afterwards. Once they made it pass where the Clean Room is, Derica orders Webber to viciously attack and kill a guard before demanding Astrid to unveil the door open while threatening to massacre everyone she knew. However, she and Webber end up confronting Capone as she begins firing at them while the rest of the demons continued feasting on unsuspecting employees of the building. Soon as Webber promptly beats Capone down, they soon exchange between slashes and hits, to where Capone rose victorious but injured when entering the room. As Derica walks in herself, amused by the outcome.
Unfortunately, Astrid reveals she walked right into her trap, she revealed to have Dr. Hagen blast down the demons' "invisible city" (spaceship) through the navy ship into the bottom of the sea, wiping out the remaining forces within. Enraged by the result, Derica curses her aunt while she and the rest recites biblical exoduction, getting her to unveil her true form and surrounding her when the rest of Chloe and Astrid's loved ones barged in. Mocking them all that they lacked the power to exorcise her completely, they brought out Spark, a member of their race, to help them use the orb to full exorcise Derica completely, thus resulting in her berating Spark's betrayal and killing her instantly, being reduced to nothing. Thus putting an end to her and the demons' sadistic means to driving humanity into insanity and further extinction.
