Biography[]
Desaad has been working alongside Darkseid for centuries as his chief torturer. He has been producing technology that inflicts pain on others. For a long time, Desaad along with his master, and the Apokolips has been at war with the people of New Genesis. Desaad also assists Darkseid in his conquests across the galaxy as Desaad was present when Darkseid and his forces tried to control the Earth. However, Darkseid made a deal with Vandal Savage and the two became mutual partners.
Centuries afterwards, Desaad would produce technology that connects with the Anti-life equation and have it sent to the Earth through his minions. Desaad gets into a major conflict with Superboy and the Forever people when they halted his minions from producing and smuggling the technology. Desaad uses the boomtube to travel across the galaxy to confront the heroes and orders one of his minions to throw the fatherbox at the Infinity-Man (an amalgam made of the New Genesis heroes combining to be one being). He took possession of the Infinity Man and uses it to try and kill Superboy and Wolf, until Infinity-Man was released from Desaad's control by New Genosphere. Desaad leaves when his plans fail.
Desaad appears with Granny Goodness in the Orphanage where he helps the Female Furies imprison and torture the meta-gene teens. He also assists Granny in her goal of cultivating a powerful army to take over the universe. When Granny is bested by the Team and Vandal Savage, Darkseid orders Desaad to torture her as punishment for her breach of authority.
