Dr. Dexter Whitlam is a major antagonist in WildStorm's Resident Evil comic series. He is the protagonist villain of the fifth issue of Resident Evil: The Official Comic Magazine and the main antagonist of Resident Evil: Fire and Ice.
He is a intelligent teenager but introverted student at Pine Grove School Academy where he was a victim of bullying until he murdered his abusers and then recruited by an agent named Klaus from the Umbrella Corporation and hired Dexter to develop a new and better virus for them.
Biography[]
Abuse and vengeance[]
During his college days, Dexter by three bullies named Kelly Thorndike and his friends, Todd Umbenhauer and Wade Boddington III. But a fellow student named Ruthie often cam to his aid whenever the Kelly and his friends bullied Dexter. Due to of his mistreatment, Dexter became antisocial and having fantasizing about killing his abusers and even threatening them.
For revenge, Dexter returns to a warehouse which he hid from his tormentors and saw men wearing Umbrella Corporation uniforms carrying something from the truck and moving it into the storage facility. Later, he sneaks in the warehouse to find a secret lab where Umbrella was conducting G-Virus experiments in the warehouse. He then finds a Tyrant inside a large tank of green liquid. However, when two security guards came and saw him, Dexter quickly grabbed a syringe that contained a sample of the G-Virus and ran out the warehouse. Realizing that Dexter was only a teenager, they decide to let him go.
Later that night, Dexter analyzed the sample he stolen and concluded it was a virus that could give power he needed to use against his bullies. Following an beating from his tormentors, Dexter injected himself with the G-Virus and transformed into a monster and stalked and killing his bullies one by one.
In the showers, he uses his claws to impale Wade and disemboweling Todd and shoving his head through the snack machine. Finally, before he could take the life of his last tormentor, Ruthie came and begs Dexter not to kill Kelly, who was begging for his life. However, Dexter ignored her and brutally kills Kelly. Klaus and his bodyguard, Venk appeared and stunned the monstrous teenager with a electrical gun.
The Umbrella agents took Dexter to a hospital where he had multiple surgeries and treatments, Dexter returned to his former self and recovering consciousness. Klaus explains to Dexter how he and Umbrella were impressed with the latter figuring out what the G-Virus did and going on a killing spree, they offer him employment once he's fully recovered. Dexter grinned and accepts the their offer.
Umbrella employment[]
After the massacre, Dexter became researcher for Umbrella, he was stationed at Umbrella's Arctic Research Facility. After capturing S.T.A.R.S. operatives Rosa Cardenas and Patrick Brady, he explained to them how impressed he was for their combat against his animals mutated with the G-Virus and told the two that they would be perfect for his X-Virus candidates. Before he could begin the experimentation on the operatives, he is killed in a blast radius by an Umbrella surveillance minicopter controlled by Quan Williamson by self-destructed the device.
