Dexy Barat is a minor character in HITMAN (2016), appearing as a non-target side character in the latter's fourth story mission "Club 27". She was Jordan Cross's treacherous manager. She held intimate knowledge of Hannah Highmoore's murder and was using audio evidence to blackmail his father, Thomas Cross.
She was voiced by Traci Lords, who also later voiced Maya Parvati in the same game, and previously voiced Layla Stockton in Hitman: Absolution.
Biography[]
Past[]
Dexy Barat was Jordan Cross' manager who, prior to working in the music industry, was the CLO of a pesticide company and successfully argued that the plaintiffs of a major health-related lawsuit against them should pay them damages instead, and she had multiple ex-husbands.
When Jordan Cross killed his girlfriend Hannah Highmoore, she was the very first person Jordan called for help. She then recommended involving Jordan's father Thomas Cross despite the father and son being estranged, and would continue to encourage Jordan to improve his relationship with Thomas.
However, Jordan's fateful argument with Hannah was somehow recorded on audio, and Jordan obsessively listened to it nightly before Dexy confiscated it, claiming it was for his own good.
HITMAN (2016)[]
Unbeknownst to Jordan, Dexy used the recording as a tool to blackmail Thomas Cross and extort money from him. During "Club 27", Ken Morgan showed up to the Himmapan hotel to discuss the details in person, but due to a lazy Class crew member, he was made three hours late and Dexy calls Thomas directly instead. The audio was later collected by Agent 47 after he knocked Dexy unconscious, before taking the audio and used it as a bait to lure Jordan in order to kill him.
HITMAN 2 (2018)[]
Dexy was presumably mentioned the HITMAN 2 mission "Three-Headed Serpent", when famed tattoo artist Paul "P-Power" Powers begs his manager (named Dexy) to bail him out of having to tattoo the notoriously violent drug lord Rico Delgado. It was speculated that Dexy Barat survived the incidents of Bangkok and went on to manage Powers.
HITMAN III (2021)[]
Dexy makes a physical appearance alongside Class guitarist Heidi Santoro in HITMAN 2 mission "The Farewell", attending Don Archibald Yates' retirement party in Mendola, Argentina.
Trivia[]
- Many fans were very disappointed that someone as unscrupulous as Dexy Barat was only made into a side character in "Club 27", instead of being made into its secondary target (a role which was taken by Ken Morgan, whom fans considered to be both boring and underwhelming).
- Although not being a target, Dexy had bigger plans than both Morgan and even Jordan Cross themselves.
