Dictator Pickles is the main antagonist of Rise of Alfred and it's sequel series Alfred's Playhouse, and the secondary antagonist of The Alfred Alfer Movie.
He is the alternate personality of a horribly abused dog named Alfred Alfer, whose subconscious mind manifested Pickles for the sole purpose of taking sexual abuse aimed at Alfred while Alfred disassociated into his mind. After a life of constant sexual abuse and misery, Pickles grew an intense hatred of Alfred, trying to take over his body, and insulting and sabotaging Alfred at every turn.
He was voiced by series' creator Emily Youcis, who also voiced his other alters, Alfred and Lucifer, along with Labby in The Alfred Alfer Movie and Phat Dawg in Alfred Alfer and Phat Dawg unreleased animation by Emily Youcis.
Appearance[]
On account of not being his own person, but instead an alternate personality of Alfred, Pickles looks just like Alfred: A dopey, floppy, skinny cartoon dog with tan fur, a slightly lighter tan-coloured round belly, a long snout with sharp teeth and a dark purple nose, and small pink paws. To differentiate himself from Alfred, he's always depicted wearing a dictator outfit, which consists of a general hat and matching suit, occasionally with a red armband. He's almost always seen with a crazed look in his eyes and a cigarette in his mouth, smoking constantly when stressed or upset, at one point going through five cigarettes in a few seconds while he laments his existence to Alfred. A recurring visual leitmotif of Pickles' is him standing at a podium, high above all else.
Though always dressed like a dictator, as his name suggests, his outfit is constantly changing colours with his appearances. In his debut, Rise of Alfred, he wears more traditional brown colours, but in Alfred's Playhouse, he wears more of a dark green suit and hat. In Return to the Playhouse and The Alfred Alfer Movie Trailer, Pickles wears a combination between his usual outfit and the outfit of a TV show host, sporting a bright golden-striped dictator outfit, which fits with his role in Return to the Playhouse, where he takes on the form of a TV show called "The Dictator Alfred Show".
Biography[]

Birth[]
Alfred the dog suffered greatly at the hands of his parents, with them attempting to drown him at least once and attempting to abandon him at least twice, being successful on the second time, leaving poor Alfred by his lonesome on his very first birthday.
Alfred was then adopted by some new caretakers, who did anything but take care of him, instead molesting and neglecting constantly, sodomising him with pickles so much that he'd get the nickname "Pickles" and giving Alfred a phobia of the word "Popsicle", which they also molested him with. Alfred's abuse got so bad that he began to disassociate into his mind, into a fun-filled world he called the Playhouse. However, for him to do this properly, his mind split in two and created an alternate personality who would serve as a "trash receptacle" for Alfred who would take the constant abuse and rape while Alfred disassociated. This alternate personality named himself "Dictator Pickles", and began to completely and utterly despise Alfred.
Rise of Alfred[]
At some point, Alfred got a job at a fast-food restaurant called Burritobell, where his easygoing boss eventually promoted Alfred to manager. Alfred's horrible isolation and neglect affected his mind so much that at this point, he saw this new position not as a higher paying job, but the role of dictator, which Alfred assumed would bring him great praise from the employees he now had control over.
Alfred began to abuse his new position, forcing his employees to call him "Dictator Alfred", give him sexual favours, sing him songs, bring him food and worship him. During this time, Alfred began to argue with a voice in his head who took the form of Alfred in a dictator costume and told him that his "adoring" employees were plotting against him. Alfred protested, devastated and deep in denial from the revelation, and defies the voice, sobbing and screaming in agony until one of his employees walked in and began talking to Alfred. With the voices screaming at Alfred and the employee's ringtone overwhelming him, Alfred snapped and murdered all his employees. He laments his newfound loneliness before immediately finding power in it, laughing maniacally and twitching on the floor.
Alfred's Playhouse[]
Part one[]
To escape the misery and abuse he endures on a daily basis, Alfred disassociates into his mind, into the Playhouse, described by Alfred as "a magical world of fun where reality is distorted". Alfred's Playhouse is a childlike kids-show-esque wonderland full of fun characters and colours to preoccupy Alfred's mind, but from an outside perspective consists of Alfred stumbling around his house and talking to himself.
Alfred speaks to an imagined audience of boys and girls, who he explains they will "Go an get the secret word" that they will scream when they hear, which consists of Alfred going to a cupboard and picking out a random object labeled with a random word. He picks out a book labeled "Popsicle", and is excited at first until he's given a vision which takes place from the perspective of a person named Pickles, getting molested by a shadowy figure with a popsicle. Alfred is horrified and screams loudly, which the playhouse friends perceive as the reaction to the secret word and begin screaming as well. Alfred then abducts a mailman and the first part ends with the two both having their own respective mental breakdowns.
Part two[]
After a fun-sequence-turned-traumatic-rape-allegory causes Alfred to race around his house, screaming in agony and horror, with nobody to comfort him during his breakdown, Alfred retreats to the bathroom and retrieves his "cutting box", spending the remainder of the part violently mutilating his leg and self-pitying himself, falling into a metaphorical pit of sadness.
Part three[]
Alfred slowly falls through the air in a dream realm, talking to himself, pitying himself and his lack of love. He then lands in a bed and is tucked in by his playhouse friends, which he says are the only people who love him.
The scene quickly switches up, though, as Alfred finds himself bound to the bed, unable to move, his rear in the air and completely vulnerable. His playhouse friends begin to morph into sexualised, deviant versions of themselves, and begin to ascend upon Alfred to sodomise him while "Black Dog" by Led Zeppelin plays.
Suddenly, right as he's about to be penetrated, Dictator Pickles appears and tells Alfred (who is now instead tied to a chair) that he "wasn't supposed to see that". He tells Alfred that going to the playhouse won't help him, since Alfred is getting tired of blocking out the world around him, and that "he's going to get sodomised either way". He tells Alfred that the playhouse is his way of escaping his life to "prevent him from doing very bad things" (which doesn't seem to have worked, considering the events of the previous parts). He then explains that the popsicle memory is something that Alfred DID experience, and then breaks down as he explains that Alfred doesn't remember it because Dictator Pickles experienced it instead while Alfred retreated into his mind to the playhouse.
Dictator Pickles tells him that to truly escape his problems, Alfred needs to fully disassociate into the playhouse and let Dictator Pickles take over. He offers Alfred a dog treat in exchange, which Alfred takes. Dictator Pickles unties Alfred and begins to scratch his head, which Alfred enjoys. Alfred lies down on his back, and as Dictator Pickles scratches his tummy with his foot, he glances at a mirror and sees himself for who he truly is: A desperate, pathetic, weak animal who is loved by nobody. Alfred doesn't care, though, and savours the few seconds of affection given by Pickles - the only care and love he is ever given by anyone, throughout all of his appearances.
Alfred is completely consumed by the playhouse while Dictator Pickles fully takes over Alfred. He stands up, stares at the starving, bound mailman, and grins maniacally, with the implication being that Dictator Pickles plans to murder him (and later on, rape him, as shown in Alfred, The Creator. The canonicity of A,TC is questionable, but judging by what happens in American Alfer and The Alfred Alfer Movie, it would be safe to assume that Pickles raped him).
The third part ends with Alfred euphorically flying through a magical pink sky with green clouds while fun, adventurous music plays.
American Alfer[]
This short is notable in that it's the only Alfred that is part of the main Alfred story, yet doesn't feature Alfred, or at least Alfred as himself.
It shows Dictator Pickles after he took over Alfred's body in Alfred's Playhouse, dancing around his house, having sex with numerous mutilated dead bodies (which he most likely murdered beforehand).

Alfred's Big Surprise[]
Alfred is taken to a deserted wasteland called Where The Dead Go To Die by his best friend Labby for a "surprise", and is distraught when he finds out his surprise was really Labby abandoning him in the desert. While Alfred cries and tries to find his way back home, Dictator Pickles sits atop a building and narrates to the audience that Alfred will never, ever find love, and is destined to be alone forever. He lights a cigarette, twitches, grimaces, and launches into screaming out at Alfred, insulting him and laughing maniacally as the movie segment comes to a close.

Personality[]
After an existence of abuse and rape, Dictator Pickles is a hateful, vengeful force in Alfred's mind whose existence revolves around making Alfred's life worse, as shown when he tries to take over his whole consciousness, hurls insults at him constantly, tortures him, seems to sabotage Alfred's manager job and treats him like a pathetic animal (which Alfred ultimately is). This hatred is almost sexual, as he gleefully strokes himself on TV while he watches Alfred get violated at the end of Return to the Playhouse.
Abilities[]
High strength, agility and murder expertise: Pickles quickly and expertly murders every single one of his employees with his bare hands and a bottle of mayonnaise. He's also able to completely overpower the mailman and hold him captive for several days until eventually killing him.
Marksmanship: Pickles is briefly shown gunning down a Ronald McDonald statue outside of the McDonald's near Burritobell for seemingly no reason.
Singing and dancing: Like Alfred, Pickles loves to sing and dance, writing songs about himself and dancing in many of his appearances.
Fourth-wall awareness: Pickles informs Alfred of his status as an infamous Newgrounds cartoon character, pointing to the camera, shocking Alfred with the realisation and inspiring him to plug his consciousness into the internet. Where or how Pickles figured this out is left ambiguous.
Charisma: Pickles has quite a charismatic demeanour, and is able to convince Alfred to completely give up his body and is able to win the love of thousands of right-wingers. The extent of Pickles' charisma is unclear, however, as Alfred is mentally ill and incredibly easy to manipulate, as are right-wingers.
Piano-playing skills: Pickles is shown to be quite talented when it comes to playing the keys, as shown in Return to the Playhouse, 420 SEX LOOP and EAT MY ROTTEN MEAT 2012.
Complete control over Alfred's body: After Pickles convinces Alfred to completely regress into his mind, Pickles gains complete control of Alfred's body, as well as being able to change anything within his mind, such as turning the Playhouse into a horrible, deserted wasteland full of corpses via the character MC Bushpig. He's also able to take control of Alfred within the confines of his mind, manifesting his necrophilia fetish through Alfred's alter Lucifer, King of the Graveyard.
Manager perks: When Alfred is promoted to manager, his boss describes to him the perks of being manager, which are inherently ones that Pickles can take advantage of since he and Alfred are one:
- Control over the Burritobell employees: Alfred has command over the employees of Burritobell, and abuses it by forcing them to sing to him and give him sexual favours, and bring him food that he wastes needlessly.
- A nice wall with lead free paint: Alfred has access to an office with lead free paint on the walls.
- A cool pin with his name on it: Alfred is given a pin with his name on it, however it's too small to fit his whole name on it, only reading "Alfre".
- A slightly bigger hat than the other employees: Alfred's hat is slightly bigger than the other employees, although the difference is trivial.
Complete control over the set of "The Dictator Alfred Show": In Return to the Playhouse, Pickles manifests himself as a program on TV called "The Dictator Alfred Show". In this state, he's in possession of a few things he can do.
- Combustion: With a snap of his fingers, Pickles is able to instantly murder all the audience members by blowing off their heads.
- Electrokinesis: Pickles manipulates a pair of wires to hook up to Alfred's ears and begin electrocuting him mercilessly.
Digital Godhood: After Alfred ascends to digital godhood and merges with Dictator Pickles, they are given a plethora of new abilities.
- Digital Omnipotence: Pickles is able to do anything he wants in the internet, manifesting an awesome digital rendition of how he perceived the Playhouse and manifesting himself as Donald Trump, Adolf Hitler and Jesus Christ, among other things.
- Digital Omniscience: Pickles is fully aware of everyone who spites him in the digital realm. The extent of this omniscience is unclear, as most of the people who were going against him or disagreeing with his ways were doing it in plain sight for all to see.
- High influence: Pickles, on account of his reputation as an infamous Newgrounds cartoon character, is widely worshipped by the right-wing internet for his illegal philias and violence.
- Immortality: After burning to death, Alfred's entire being is sucked into the virtual realm. With his mortal form destroyed, Alfred and Pickles live on forever as a nigh-omnipotent digital god.
- Explosives: Pickles is able to cause any device with internet access to explode violently, killing anyone in its proximity with the push of a button, which is visualised as a missile attack.
Trivia[]
- Pickles' hatred for hamburgers to the extent of wanting to "exterminate" them all is a parody of Hitler's hatred of Jewish people, the joke being that it's stupid and pointless, and a huge waste of resources.
- A few aspects of Pickles' character seem to be based off the popular Tim Burton villain Beetlejuice, which Emily Youcis is a big fan of:
- Pickle's striped dictator outfit in the trailer for and later segments of The Alfred Alfer Movie slightly resembles Beetlejuice's black-and-white-striped suit.
- Emily Youcis has stated that Pickles' personality was based on a sleazy salesman, similar to Beetlejuice.
