Diego is a minor antagonist in Series 1 of the TV series Killing Eve. He is an assassin working for the Twelve and was sent to kill Frank Haleton along with his girlfriend Nadia Kadomtseva and Villanelle.
He is portrayed by Edward Akrout.
Biography[]
Little is known about Diego's past before he became an assassin for the Twelve. At some point, he met Nadia Kadomtseva and the two became lovers, although she was secretly uncomfortable with him constantly calling her "pumpkin". He also learned about her ex-girlfriend Oksana, but they both didn't know that she was now the infamous assassin Villanelle.
In 2018, Diego and Nadia were sent to work with Villanelle in killing a British Intelligence officer. After Diego picks her up, he stops her and Nadia from fighting in the van, unaware that Nadia recognized her as Oksana. On their way to their target's position, they fill Villanelle in on that their target is a British Intelligence officer but don't know their name yet. The next morning, they pull over to check their weapons but Diego is forced to stop them from fighting again. He then threatens them that he has permission to kill one of them if they don't stop fighting.
Arriving in Bletcham, Diego receives the I.D. of their next target: Frank Haleton. He then passes out guns to the two women and heads around to secure the back of the house while they head in through the front. After returning, they learn from Frank's "mother" that Frank had left for London and so they had to wait for him. Diego and Villanelle waited in the van while Nadia took the back. They then see Nadia chasing Frank in his car and the three then pursue him. During the chase, Diego cheered on with Nadia shooting at Frank with a rifle. Frank manages to evade them without being shot and puts some distance between him and the three of them.
Villanelle, Diego, and Nadia approach Frank's car and get out with their weapons. Diego shoots first, followed by Nadia and Villanelle and they ply the car full of bullets, blowing off the hood. Diego then checks, only to find Frank not in the car. After Villanelle continues to irritate Diego, the two raise their guns at each other, only for Nadia to shout out "Oksana", revealing to Diego that Villanelle is Nadia's ex-girlfriend. Villanelle claims she has been sent to get Nadia away from Diego and tells her she is not a pumpkin, but is in fact beautiful. Nadia turns her gun towards Diego and fires, killing him.
