“ | Mondo: Well, did you find anything? Klank: Yes sire. Just outsida Angel Grove, we found a hidden pocket of molten lava just waitin’ to be tapped. Sprocket: Hey, that's perfect. We pump the lava out and use it to destroy the Power Rangers. Orbus: But that was our idea. Machina: Lovely Sprocket, what a magnificent plan you’ve come up with. Biography[]
Past[]
The Digster was manufactured by the Machine Empire, working under King Mondo and Queen Machina. Unusually, the Digster was also built with a small and completely sentient robot atop his head that could attack on its own and seemed to control his movements. With their monsters and never-ending army of Cogs, the Machine Empire was able to devastate and conquer entire galaxies.
Zeo[]
In 1996, King Mondo leads his Machine Empire to the Moon where they drive out Lord Zedd and Rita Repulsa but their invasion is ultimately stalled by the interference of the Zeo Rangers.
After Klank's calculations that there is a large quantity of magma near Angel Grove prove to be correct, King Mondo sends the Digster and an army of Cogs to mine the lava and make it erupt to destroy the Zeo Rangers' home. He is first seen digging into the mountain with the help of the Cogs although he quickly gets bored and just throws an explosive into the magma chamber to get the volcano ready to erupt. Soon after, he updates Prince Sprocket as well as Klank and Orbus but they then discover that Kat is nearby when she starts yelling for the new rescue dog Smokey who detected the Digster's activities. As such, the Digster ambushes her before blasting her straight off a hill which twists her ankle and sends the Cogs to finish Kat off. After an extensive search however, Kat manages to escape the Cogs when Smokey makes them flee in fear so Mondo orders the Digster to get back to work.
Later, the Digster reveals that he'll be ready to destroy Angel Grove by nightfall but they hear Kat nearby so Sprocket sends the Digster and his Cogs to kill her and Smokey. Despite the Digster trying to obliterate Smokey, he is able to outrun the blasts and return Kat's Zeonizer which allows her to once again confront the Digster. Although she easily defeats the Cogs, she proves to be no match for the Digster himself due to her twisted ankle with even her Pink Power Cloud and Zeo I Power Shield finishers being ineffective. Before he can destroy her though, the Zeo Rangers arrive to gun him down with their Zeo Laser Pistols and the entire team then defeat the Digster with a devastating combined jump-kick. However, Klank and Orbus then make him grow so they form the Zeo Megazord which is initially too evenly matched with the Digster until they shoot him with the Zeo I Battle Helmet only for him to then return fire. Getting nowhere, they equip the Zeo Megazord Saber which allows them to withstand an energy laser and cut off the robot atop the Digster's head before killing him with an energised slash. As mentioned by Zordon soon after, his explosion also ends up caving in the cave systems where the lava is, ensuring that it can never be used for evil again.
“ | Sprocket: I really hate those lousy Power Rangers! Look at what they've done this time! Mommy, they've ruined my favourite creation! Machina: There, there my dear. Don't blame yourself. You mustn't take it personally. They have ruined all our creations. |

~ Sprocket and Machina after Punch-A-Bunch destroyed his glove. |
After Sprocket complains about Punch-A-Bunch damaging himself during battle against the Zeo Rangers, the People Pitcher is indirectly referenced along with all previous monsters used up to that point when Machina reassures her distraught son that the Rangers have ruined all of their monsters.
Much later on, after Trey of Triforia transfers his Gold Ranger powers to Jason Scott to deny them to King Mondo, the emperor executes his ultimate plan; recreating an army of past monsters (including the Digster) as giants and upgrading them with the Neo-Plutonium Armour. The new and improved monsters are much stronger than they were before and are completely immune to the Rangers' weapons with the ultimate mission of destroying the Zeo Megazord. However, the four he sends out are destroyed by the new Super Zeozords and he is forced to scrap the rest of the now useless monsters which include the Digster.
Personality[]
The Digster is a determined and passionate but also very arrogant miner who stops at nothing to complete his task; being completely loyal to King Mondo and his family. When forced into battle however, he proves just as brutally efficient and shows a sadistic streak; mocking and laughing at Kat as he beat her down.
Powers and Abilities[]
- Strength: The Digster proves to be stronger than Kat, taking her down with a single slap from his jackhammer and single smacks from it knocked away the Zeo Megazord.
- Durability: The Digster is able to shrug off multiple punches and kicks from Kat (including one to the face), her Pink Power Cloud and Zeo I Power Disk attacks, multiple punches and a kick from the Zeo Megazord and the Zeo I Battle Helmet's lasers all without a scratch.
- Sight: The Digster can see despite his eyes always being closed.
- Speech: The Digster is capable of speech despite not having a mouth.
- Mining: The Digster is a very skilled miner, being able to drill holes in the cave system just outside Angel Grove so quickly that he was ready to destroy Angel Grove by nightfall the same day he started.
- Explosive Detonation: The Digster is able to make a bomb he threw into the lava explode by the robot on his head slamming down its controls.
- Energy Lasers: The Digster can spray orange lasers from the machine gun on his right shoulder which caused large explosions, knocked Kat off her Zeo Jet Cycle, stripped her of her Zeonizer and knocked her down a hill.
- Laser Blasts: The Digster can fire blue lasers from the robot on top of his head strong enough to devastate Kat and stagger the Zeo Megazord.
Arsenal[]
- Jackhammer: The Digster is equipped with a large red jackhammer that could be used as a club or to dig.
- Shockwaves: The Dogster can stab his jackhammer into the ground to generate a shock-wave that would pass through the ground and strike down Kat.
- Head Change: The Digster can instantly change the head of his jackhammer from a drill bit to a shovel head to switch from drilling to digging or to try and impale Kat with.
- Energy Blasts: After being enlarged, the Digster could fire energy blasts from the tip of his jackhammer to slam into his enemies.
- Bomb: The Digster used a bomb when drilling through to the magma chamber took too long.
