~ Ding Dong Daddy.
Ding Dong Daddy is a minor antagonist in the fifth and final season of the Teen Titans cartoon series. He served as the main antagonist of the episode "Revved Up".
Ding Dong Daddy is an auto enthusiast and apparent master thief who speaks with a lot of 1950's-era slang, such as describing the Titans as "Daddy-O's" and "Squares". He is first seen amongst the numerous villains recruited by the Brotherhood of Evil.
He later stole a titanium briefcase from Robin. Ding Dong Daddy would challenge Robin to a race across the desert to get the case back. During his race against the Titans, Ding Dong Daddy utilized several tricks up his sleeve in his hot-rod, like a ray gun, a barrage of grenades, and ice to make the road slippery. He also grounds Raven and Starfire with some kind of energy ray and has his pit crew of gremlins take apart the T-Car with Beast Boy and Cyborg inside it.
Other villains would later join in to collect the prize, but Red X came to Robin's aid after the later saved his life. Just before they came to the finish line, Robin kicked Ding Dong Daddy off his hot-rod and won the race. Ding Dong Daddy then fell unconscious, passing out.
Ding Dong Daddy later appeared during the final battle between the Titans and the Brotherhood of Evil, where he attacks Pantha, but is thrown by her. He also tries to run over the Titans by ramming them with his hot-rod, but he was defeated by Kole and Gnnark, forcing him out of his hot-rod and being frozen with the other villains.
Trivia[]
He was among the first villains faced by the original roster of Teen Titans (Robin, Speedy, Kid Flash, Aqualad and Wonder Girl) in the comics. In this continuity, he does not show up until the fifth and final season.
Notably, Ding Dong Daddy and Mad Mod were both villains fought by the original Titans in the comics, but he shows up long after Mad Mod first appeared in the show when he predated Mad Mod in the comics.
Much like his comic counterpart, he's based on Ed "Big Daddy" Roth, legendary hot rod artist.
