The Dinosaurs are the reptiles from the Mesozoic era and a group of supporting antagonists in the Plants vs. Zombies franchise. They play a role in helping the Zombies to fight the plants, however when charmed they will help the plants fight the zombies and become heroes instead.
History[]
Plants vs. Zombies 2[]
The Dinosaurs were first introduced in Jurassic Marsh - Day 4 as environment modifiers on the lawn. When they entered the lawn, most plants cannot harm them, regardless of what kind of projectiles they use. The only way to counter dinosaurs is Perfume-shroom’s charming ability, which negates them into fighting against the zombie horde.
The Dinosaurs can be summoned by Dr. Zomboss's Zombot Dinotronic Mechasaur in Jurassic Marsh - Day 32 to help him fight the plants. Later, Zomboss kept them to supply his undead horde in future levels and game modes.
Preventing a dinosaur from interacting any zombies lets the players earn the achievement "Dinos Sore".

The dinosaurs returned in this game as separate zombie cards, and they were all tamed by zombie warrior women.

Raptors are dinosaurs that kick zombies from any timelines four tiles forward. They leave after kicking five zombies in their lane.
When affected by Perfume-shrooms' charming effect, Raptors kick five zombies in its lane off the screen killing them instantly.
In Plants vs. Zombies Heroes, Raiding Raptor is a Triassic-Legendary Pet History Zombie card of Sneaky class. Its strength and health are 2/4. Upon the activation of Dino-Roar, it increases its strength by one. When attack, its rider throws her weapon at plants. If she hurt the Plant Hero, she conjures a card that costs two brains or less.
Stegosaurus[]

Stegosauruses, or also known as Stompadons, are dinosaurs that use their tail to flick zombies in its range to another tile. They leave the lawn after flicking three times.
Charming Stegosauruses with Perfume-shrooms makes them smashing zombies within the range of its tail.
In Plants vs. Zombies Heroes, Stompadon is a Colossal-Legendary Pet History Zombie card of Hearty Class. Its strength and health are 2/4. When Dino-Roar is activated, it makes all zombies in the players' hands increase their strength and health by one. When attack, the rider snaps her fingers to command it using its tail to attack the plants.
Pterodactyl[]
Pterodactyls are not dinosaurs, but they still play as the members of this group. They only carry Jurassic Zombie, Conehead, Buckethead, Fossilhead, Amberhead, Bully, and Rockpuncher to the left side of the lawn, making them eat plants from behind and walk back to their starting point. They leave after carrying three zombies.
Purfume-shrooms' charming smell makes Pterodactyls abduct the carried zombie and kill them. If they were charmed while carrying a zombie in the air, the players earn the "Terror Redactyled" achievement.
T-Rex[]
Tyrannosaurus Rexes, or T-Rexes, are dinosaurs whose behaviors are similar to dogs. Their roars give all zombies in the lane a temporary speed boost. T-Rexes leave after their first roar.
When charmed by Perfume-shrooms, T-Rexes chomp five zombies in front of it and then leave. If they chomp ten zombies, the players earn the achievement "Hungry, Hungry Dinos".
Ankylosaurus[]

Ankylosauruses are dinosaurs who use their tails to knock zombies forward to the nearest plant and knock all plants in their lane backward, with the last plant on the last column gets knocked out of the lawn. They leave after knocking a certain amount of zombies.
The Ankylosauruses use their tails to flick zombies off the screen killing them when charmed by Perfume-shrooms.
In Plants vs. Zombies Heroes, Ankylosaurus was renamed to Tankylosaurus, which is a Colossal-Legendary Pet History Zombie of Crazy Class. Its strength and health are 2/6. With Dino Roar, the rider commands it to do two damages at a random plant or the Plant Hero. When attack, the rider uses its tail to hurt the plants.
Brontosaurus[]

Brontosauruses are exclusive dinosaurs in the Chinese version of Plants vs. Zombies 2. Their stomps leave all plants and zombies in a 3x3 area killed and giant footprints that prevent the players from planting for seven seconds.
In Plants vs. Zombies Heroes, the Brontosaurus was renamed to Mondo Bronto. It is a Colossal-Legendary Pet History Zombie Card of Beastly Class. Its strength and health are both five. Its trait is Amphibious, which allows the players to play it in the water lane. When Dino Roar is performed, Its health and strength increase by one, and all plants in its lane get destroyed. When attack, it spits water at plants.
