(…) We represent Pizza Dinosaur! We got the most stores in the world! Our crust is tough and our sauce is thin, But we’re everywhere so you gotta give in! Mona Pizza’s got nothing on us. ‘Cause we’ve got 6000 stores plus!(…)
~ The Dinosaurs in the Mona Pizza Song.

The Dinosaurs are residents of Diamond City who are active in the gastronomy and delivery service and minor antagonists in the WarioWare series. They are the owners of the restaurant chain Pizza Dinosaur and are in direct competition with Mona Pizza.

Biography[]

WarioWare: Twisted![]

Mona receives a call from a customer who ordered three Mona Special Pizzas, at the same time the Dinosaurs receive a customer call as well and aggressively demand from the customer to make their order as fast as possible, but the customer says to the two men that they have dialed the wrong number and actually wanted to order pizza from Mona and then hangs up, enraging the Dinosaurs.

While Mona is on her way to her customer she is suddenly ambushed by the Dinosaurs. They try to stop Mona from delivering her pizzas successfully by using one of their combat vehicles to do so. But Mona refuses to go down without a fight and calls her animal friends, an elephant, a pig and a monkey to take out the Dinosaurs. The elephant and the pig hit Mona's pursuers with soccer balls in an attempt to destroy the vehicle. In order to continue the story, the player must successfully complete a series of microgames. While the player tries to overcome these games, the song "Mona Pizza" plays in the background. The lyrics of the song give the player an insight into the business philosophy of the Dinosaurs.

This part of the song reveals that the Dinosaurs focus on the quantity of their product rather than on its quality, and that their tactic for attracting customers is simply to set up pizzerias in as many locations as possible and hope that people will eventually go to their restaurants rather than make a quality product to create a loyal customer base. This is in stark contrast to Mona's business philosophy, which focuses on the quality of her pizzas and a friendly attitude towards her clientele instead of just plain quantity.

After successfully passing the microgames, the player unlocks the epilogue of the episode. Mona's monkey drops a banana on the highway right in the way of the Dinosaurs. This results in the Dinosaurs' vehicle being knocked over, and Mona has successfully gotten rid of the two fiends and can now deliver her pizzas undisturbed.

WarioWare: Touched![]

Dino Deco

The Dinosaurs kidnapping Deco.

The Dinosaurs reappear in the sequel to WarioWare: Twisted!, WarioWare: Touched! as supporting antagonists in the Cute Cuts episode. In this episode they are guitarists and part of Vanessa's band. When the former pop queen lost her number one spot in the charts to newcomer Mona, Vanessa tries to stop her band from performing at the Hawt House, with the Dinosaurs assisting her.

On the way to their gig Mona and her band are ambushed by Vanessa along with the Dinosaurs. The Dinosaurs climb into their bird-like aircraft and then kidnap Deco, one of Mona’s band members. Mona and her friends try to save Deco by bombarding the Dinosaurs' aircraft with soccer balls, just like in the previous game. The Dinosaurs, however, take out Mona's friends with ease, and Mona's band member Art then gets the idea to launch himself into the air with a jumping catapult to hit the Dinosaurs' vehicle from below with his head. When Art collides with the aircraft, the Dinosaurs crash, and Deco is freed from their grips. Now that the band is complete again, they set off for their performance, leaving the Dinosaurs behind.

WarioWare: Smooth Moves[]

The Dinosaurs appear for a third time in yet another Mona episode: "Cheerleading to Victory" in the Wii title WarioWare: Smooth Moves released in 2006, but their role here is far less villainous than in the previous games, they take part in a football game against the Diamond City Roughs, and they in fact do not break any rules or use any of their battle vehicles to gain an unfair advantage. This is also the only game so far where three Dinosaurs appear instead of the usual two.

Trivia[]

  • In the first game they appear, the Dinosaurs have a yellow skin tone.
  • WarioWare: Touched! is the only game in which the dinosaurs wear helmets that have no horns attached to them.
