Dirk Dinkum is a main antagonist of The Garfield Show episodes Long Lost Lyman and Lion Queen, based on the Garfield comic strips. He is a Australian poacher who was hired by Spencer Spendington to capture the last of the Manzian White Lion species and bring them in cages as animals for his zoo solely for Dinkum to obtain millions of dollars as a reward for capturing the Manzian White Lions.
He was voiced by Fred Tatasciore, who is also the current voice actor for Dingodile of the Crash Bandicoot franchise.
Appearance[]
Dinkum is large muscular man with broad shoulders. He has a head with a large square chin and blonde hair, and is always seen wearing green hunters clothes, a brown hat and brown boots.

Initially, Dinkum seemed to be a decent, adventurous explorer who wanted to learn about nature, but he was later revealed to be an evil, sadistic, egotistical poacher who cares about no one but himself, often going on hunting down rare animals and endangered species to obtain wealth and fame, putting him at odds with Lyman and Angie.
He is also shown to be cruel, as he regularly abuses his assistant, Buckley. Despite how much flak he gets for his cruel behavior, Dinkum actually takes great pride in it
However, it is shown that he is very dimwitted, evidenced when he was given a fake map, which misled him as he was trying to find the Manzian White Lions.
Biography[]
Nothing is much known about Dinkum's past. But according to Dr. Whipple, besides being a poacher, he is a very famous celebrity in Australia. With his fame being notorious as a adventurer of acute ability in tracking down animals. Whipple then travels to Franistan alongside Jon, Odie and Garfield, where they starts to investigate the Zabadu, a orangutan-like animal that has been terrorizing the forests of the country. Suddenly, Dinkum appears and greets Garfield and his group before telling them that he is gonna investigate the Zabadu first.

- Since May 2023, Dinkum’s song, Go Away had become a popular internet meme, especially amongst Twitter.
- In Australian slang "Dinkum" means "true" or "genuine". This is meant to ironically highlight his deceptive nature.
- In the music video for Go Away, during the lyrics "My father thinks I'm bad, my mother is totally disgusted", he is seen stealing an old woman's cake and replacing it with a fish skeleton, and flinging an old man into the sky using a park bench. While there's no evidence to support this theory, there's a chance that these could be the parents he speaks of.
- Dirk has been jokingly compared to the Team Fortress 2 character Saxton Hale due to their similar stature, nationality and antagonistic actions.
- Children can be heard crying almost constantly in the background throughout Go Away.
