Dirk Dinkum, or simply Dinkum by his last name, is a major antagonist in the French-American animated series The Garfield Show, based on the Garfield comic strips.
He is a cruel, greedy, sadistic, egomanical Australian poacher with a love for money, often hunting down rare animals and endangered species to obtain wealth and fame. In Long Lost Lyman, he is put at odds with Lyman, who had sworn to protect wildlife. In Lion Queen, he is hired by Spencer Spendington to capture the last of the Manzian White Lion species and bring them in cages as animals for his zoo solely for Dirk to obtain millions of dollars as a reward for capturing the Manzian White Lions.
He was voiced by Fred Tatasciore.
Appearance[]
Dirk is large muscular man with broad shoulders. He has a head with a large square chin and blonde hair, and is always seen wearing green hunters clothes, a brown hat and brown boots.

Dirk is often shown to be an egotistical man who cares about no one but himself, often going for his endeavors purely for fame and money. He is also shown to be cruel, as he regularly abuses his assistant, Buckley. Despite how much flak he gets for his cruel behavior, Dirk actually takes great pride in it.
Dirk, however, also shows that he is very dimwitted, evidenced when he was given a phoney map, which misled him as he was trying to find the Manzian White Lions.

- Since May 2023, Dirk, specifically his song Go Away had become a popular internet meme, especially amongst Twitter.
- In Australian slang "Dinkum" means "true" or "genuine". This is meant to ironically highlight his deceptive nature.
- There is a misconception that his song number, Bad Boy, is called Go Away, given how much he says it during the song.
- In the music video for Bad Boy, during the lyrics "My father thinks I'm bad, my mother is totally disgusted", he is seen stealing an old woman's cake and replacing it with a fish skeleton, and flinging an old man into the sky using a park bench. While there's no evidence to support this theory, there's a chance that these could be the parents he speaks of.
