Dennis "Dirtbox" Tafoya is a minor villain in The Punisher MAX, serving as the deuteragonist of the one-shot Naked Kill. He is a criminal working for a snuff film operation who is forced to help the Punisher infiltrate the ring's headquarters.
Biography[]
Dirtbox is first seen alongside some nameless thugs watching a film in which Eleventhree rapes and murders a woman. When Punisher arrives and slaughters the others due to their involvement with the snuff film ring, Dirtbox manages to negotiate his survival by offering to get him into Daedalus Tower, where the films are made. Punisher ensures his cooperation by forcing him to swallow two Paracetamol pills claiming them to be a slow-acting poison.
Dirtbox arranges for Punisher to infiltrate the building disguised as a cleaner, but explains he is only authorised to go up to the sixth floor and the floor captains control access to the higher floors. He also explains that there are no guns or knives below the seventh floor and no way to smuggle them in without endangering the girls, who are held on the eighth floor. The Punisher says that he'll just have to improvise.
After the Punisher strangles the first guard to death, Dirtbox distracts the second one, named Keith, so the Punisher can sneak up and kill him too. Dirtbox describes this kill as "f-ckin' awesome". Later after everyone on the second floor has been slaughtered Dirtbox dismisses their deaths, telling Punisher that he's a sociopath and doesn't care about the deaths of his supposed friends. He then helps Punisher by using his retina scans to take him to the sixth floor, in the process watching and gaining sexual arousal from Punisher's massacre of the security team. Punisher then kills the floor captain and the two proceed to floor seven.
On the seventh floor, Dirtbox again distracts the floor captain so that Punisher can kill him. As Punisher retrieves an arsenal of guns from the wall, Dirtbox eagerly anticipates how he'll kill everybody on the eight floor, only to be told "it's time to end this". Punisher then shoves a shotgun barrel into Dirtbox's mouth and blows his head off.
