~ Dita introducing himself to the Yamato pilots. |
Dita is one of the two secondary antagonists (later a supporting character) of Sol Cresta, along with Chandor. He is Sho Tendo's rival, the older twin brother of Luna Zarnitsyna Sheena, and a high ranking member of the Zofer Army.
Biography[]
Dita first appears in Uranus, attacking the Yamato using one part of his ship, the Trimurti, originally dubbed M-Alpha by Dril. The Yamato fights him off, and he is forced to retreat. He later returns in Saturn, this time using a second ship called M-Beta and introducing himself to the Yamato pilots. After being defeated, he asks Sho his name, only for Sho to refuse, except Dril ends up revealing it anyway. He then escapes, but not before telling Sho not to die until he is fully prepared to hunt. The Yamato later encounters him again in Mars, this time piloting all three ships of the Trimurti. When the Yamato defeats him, his mask breaks off, revealing him to resemble Luna, and also revealing him to be Luna's long lost brother. At this moment, Chandor orders Dita to retreat and tells Sol Cresta to come meet him on Earth.
When they arrive at Earth, Dita fights the Yamato again, teaming up with Kethu, another Mega Zofer general. After Kethu's ship takes heavy damage, Dita tries to get Kethu to eject, but Chandor instead lets him perish, locking him inside the ship before it explodes, and Dita is forced to retreat. Dita later faces the Yamato one final time in Mercury, where the Trimurti transforms into a giant mech. After a long battle, Dita is finally defeated, but when Yamato arrives at the planet's Vaikun, falling debris damages the Yamato, and when Sho and Dril struggle to save Luna, Dita redeems himself by destroying the Vaikun. However, Chandor, thinking Dita has outlived his usefulness, kills Dita before telling Sol Cresta to come meet him at Sol. Upon arriving at the sun, Chandor reveals that the Dita he killed at Mercury was a remote-controlled cyborg, and that the real Dita is sleeping in the depths of the Mega Zofer base, being held hostage by Mandler. After both Chandor and Mandler were destroyed, the real Dita awakens and helps the Yamato pilots escape from the base before it collapses.
Powers and Abilities[]
The pilot of the Trimurti, Mega Zofer's main offensive aircraft, his superior piloting skills let him control all three of the Trimurti's composite fighters by himself, and like the Yamato he can dock, split, and execute coordinated attacks with them at will. While a seemingly human figure in the Mandler Army is a rarity in and of itself, Dita is not actually an alien being. Rather, espionage reports have ascertained that he is a synthoid, a humanoid construct that Mandler created using human DNA.
His piloting prowess is largely the product of genetic engineering, while his deep-seated hatred of humanity is the result of thorough brainwashing. Extremely vicious, Dita never hesitates to attack. Dita never flew the Trimurti in person when it attacked Sol Cresta during their campaign to the sun, but was instead telepathically linked to a cyborg placed in the cockpit. This allowed him to operate the craft from the safety of the Mega Zofer base. At the end of the war, Dita surrendered, and during questioning he was confirmed to be the twin brother of Luna Zarnitsya Sheena, the pilot of the Tsukuvomi.
