The Divergant, also commonly known as the Aparoid Ship, is a supporting antagonist and third boss of the 2005 video game, Star Fox: Assault.
It is a colossal Aparoid commander who led the invasion of Katina following he start of the Aparoid invasion. As part of a set up by Pigma, the Divergant would be a simple target for Fox to defeat and be able to steal its Core Memory for his greed.
Appearance[]
The Divergant is a giant quadrupedal Aparoid who is known to be a UFO-shaped war machine equipped with weapons for laser and missile proficiency. It posseses purple armor, four mechanical legs, a small head possessing a purple eye with two crests and two horns and hatches from its underside. It also possesses two orbs, one under it as a weak points to have it disabled when fired and the other on top as a spire containing the Core Memory.

The Divergant was one of the many Aparoid who was granted birth by the Aparoid queen to join the ranks and rose up to become a commander of the Aparoids. In its growth, the Divergant would grow and evolved into a powerful war machine and becoming a right-hand of the queen as second in command of their forces. Once the time is right, the Divergant spread the Aparoid Queen's will to invade the Lylat System to invade and conquer under Aparoid domination.
Star Fox: Assault[]
During the invasion, the Divergant led the Aparoids to invade Katina and capture the Katina outpost but little did it know that Pigma manages to send in an SOS signal to lure Fox to his advantage for a bargain with the Aparoids. Fox arrives at the outpost where he is ambushed by the Divergant 's forces and fought against them before boarding a landmaster to defeat them all easier. Aware of the situation, the Divergant summons Aparoid hatchers to spawn more Aparoids only for Fox to eliminate each of them before clearing out the rest of the Aparoids.
Deciding to fight Fox on its own, the Divergant returns to the outpost using an Aparoid warp gate and lands ready to fight its opponent. When it arrived, Fox assumed the Divergant to be the sole leader of the Aparoid race until Krystal points out that it possesses a Core Memory. Despite having the best effort to defeat its enemy, Fox manages to defeat the creature by shooting at the orb on top of its body, shooting at it until it roars in pain and gets killed. In spite of its death, it's Core Memory survived the explosion as it is still intact for Fox to retrieve only to be stolen by Pigma to use it to collaborate with the Aparoids.

- Though it is referred as the Aparoid Ship, the Japanese guide of Star Fox: Assault revealed its name to be the Divergant.
