Doc Scratch is one of the primary antagonists in Andrew Hussie's webcomic Homestuck. Scratch is the right hand of the series primary antagonist Lord English. He is the primary antagonist of all of Act 5. He created a code that was responsible for summoning Lord English, making Scratch one of the most evil in the Homestuck franchise. Doc Scratch is also the smartest of all the Homestuck villains. He can be seen as the overall primary antagonist of the Homestuck franchise.
Appearance
Doc scratch has the appearance of a tall man with no face and round white head. Doc Scratch often wears a green jumpsuit and a green bow tie. Even though the sound of his voice is unknown, most fans picture his voice being faded and sort of distorted.
Personality
Doc scratch is a cunning man with a manipulative personality as he manipulated vriska secret into making the green sun. He is also very calm. Scratch never lets the Handmaid leave him and always forces her to stay with him. Because of his perverted nature towards little girls such as Rose Lalonde (who is 13) fans draw perverted pictures of him which lead many Doc cosplayers to act perverted. Homestucks creator, Andrew Hussie, once said that Doc Scratch was based off of the Devil and that his name was based off of one of the Devils names, "Old Scratch"
History
Creation of Alternia
Before the events of Homestuck, Doc Scratch cast a spell on The Handmaid which makes her create evil trolls in Alternia. Soon after a giant war in Alternia, Scratch kidnaps The Handmaid and keeps her in a room on his giant mansion. While The Handmaid is stuck in the mansion, Scratch creates a code which spawns a Cherubim egg. The Cherubim inside the egg would later be know as Lord English. Scratch then joins the Felt which was a group created by Lord English himself. He serves as the groups 2nd in command.
Act 5 Act 1
Years later, Scratch's magic 8-ball is stolen by Vriska Serket. Scratch is infuriated to find out who had stolen his ball. After Vriska was haunted by ghost, Scratch contacts her and informs her that the ghost were Aradias doing. This enraged Vriska to the point where she uses mind control on Sollux and forces him to kill Aradia. This act led to many events in the story.
Act 5 Act 2
Vriska eventually ends up creating the Green Sun which made Jack Noir much more powerful then before. Later, Scratch manipulated Karkat Vantas into talking with Gamzee. This talk leads to Karkat getting traumatized and sending down Equius and Nepeta to kill Gamzee. However, Gamzee ends up killing Equiuis and Nepeta instead. Doc Scratch then uses Jack to his advantage by manipulating Rone Lalonde into hunting down Jack (which eventually John gets sucked into.) Both John and Rose end up dying at the hands of Jack. Doc Scratch ends up triggering so much havoc and chaos that the Homestuck disk can't take it anymore and is scratched. This was supposed to stop Homestuck from continuing but Doc Scratch reveals himself to be, ironicly enough, a scratch doctor. Scratch is entrusted with the Homestuck disk, which makes him in control of Homestuck. Scratch decides not to cause havoc on the Homestuck world but instead serve as Homestucks "host", telling the readers of Homestuck exactly what I'd happening. Scratch then serves a bowl of candy and soon enough, Spades Slick crashes into the room and tries to attack Scratch. Scratch then offers Slick the bowl of candy he served, which made Slick stop attacking. Scratch then calls the felt over to his mansion, where Scratch tells Snowman to kill Slick. Snowman ends up kissing Slick instead which enraged Scratch. Scratch then orders the felt to shoot at Slick and Scratch later confronts Slick, holding him at gunpoint.

Scratch then makes a deal with Scratch: if he kills Snowman, Scratch will set him free (Despite the fact that Snowman is Scratch's comrade and the universe will be ruined if she dies.) Slick agrees to the deal and goes off to kill Snowman. Scratch the continues to host Homestuck untill he hears a lounf banging on The Handmaid door. When Scratch gies to open it, The Handmaid jumps out and tries to kill him. This attempt fails and The Handmaid then tries to commit suicide, but is stopped by Scratch using his "discipline broom". Scratch then thinks that The Handmaid wanted to learn about the history of the trolls, so he tells her. In the middle of telling the story, the creator of Homestuck himself, Andrew Hussie, breaks into Scratch's house using the forth wall andecor attacks Scratch. Hussie rips off Scratch's leg and Scratch goes unconscious. Hussie then realizes that Scratch already had the Homestuck disk repaired from the start of getting it, meaning that Scratch just wanted to be Homestucks host forever while deceiving others into believing that hes still trying to fix the Homestuck disk. When Scratch wakes up and notices that his leg was riped off, ue is not enraged, scared, confused, but happy. It did not matter to Scratch anymore because his code was set into motion and the last step of being able to summon Lord English was his own life. Scratch began turning into Lord English and his head started to crack. Soon enough, his head exploded and he had successfully summoned Lord English, who would cause more havoc and chaos upon the entire multiuniverse.

Trivia
- Doc Scratch shares some similarity with the Slenderman. That both have no faces but are still a dangerous threat to be reckoned with. They both are also both perceived as perverts by fans.
