So, this is the famous Iron Man. Amusing. I. AM. DOOM.
~ Doctor Doom to Iron Man.
There is no escape... from Doom!
~ Doctor Doom after trapping Iron Man in another dimension.
Fools. You fell into my trap like flies into a spiderweb, and Doom didn't even have to lift a finger.
~ Doom to Iron Man and Mandarin.

Doctor Victor von Doom is the titular main antagonist of the Iron Man: Armored Adventures episodes "The Might of Doom" and "Doomsday." Originally a member of the Latvarian Royal Family, he became a dictator after accidentally killing his bride and his mother in an explosion. He wears a suit of armor with quantum manipulation capabilities.

He was voiced by Christopher Britton.

Personality[]

Doctor Doom is perhaps the most intelligent villain in the series. He mastered quantum technology to a perfect degree and downsized Obadiah Stane's arc reactor in mere hours. He is also a brilliant strategist, as shown when he effortlessly lured Iron Man and Mandarin into a trap. Even with his intelligence, Doom seems to have a pathological desire to prove himself as the smartest person on Earth, as he went after Iron Man soley because he had better shielding technology.

While he is implied to have been a genuinely good person at one point, most of these qualities have been shredded by the time of the series. However, he did want to reunite with his family, proving his love for them still remains.

Doctor Doom also claims to always uphold his word, though seeing as how he lied to both Obadiah Stane and Yogthulu, this is almost certainly false.

Powers[]

He- he's like some crazy unstoppable killbot!
~ Rescue on Doctor Doom.
  • Genius Level Intellect: Doom is highly intelligent and is perhaps the smartest character in the series. Not only does he have a brilliant tactical mind, but he is the only human to fully master quantum technology, something thought to only be capable by the Makulan race.
  • Master Combatant: Doom is a skilled fighter who managed to take on both Iron Man and War Machine at one with little effort.
  • Quantum Manipulation: Doom's armor gives him various quantum-based powers.
    • Flight: Doom's armor has the power to levitate.
    • Superhuman Durability: Doom's armor is incredibly durable. It managed to tank every attack from both Iron Man and War Machine, and it even survived having several tons of rubble dropped on it.
    • Sensors: Doom was able to detect Iron Man from outside the Stark International building.
    • Soul-Stealing: Perhaps his most dangerous power, Doom can remove a person's soul and send it to another dimension
    • Ergokinesis/Electrokinesis/Aerokinesis: Doctor Doom has the power to generate and manipulate energy, electricity, and even air.

Trivia[]

  • Doctor Doom serves as a dark parallel of Iron Man
    • Both of them were involved in a traumatic accident that injured their bodies and took a loved one. Iron Man's heart was damaged when the Mandarin kidnapped his father, Howard Stark, while Doom created an explosion that killed his mother and bride as well as scaring his face.
    • Both men also compensate for their injuries with technology, Iron Man is kept alive with an electromagnet while Doom hides his scars with a mask.
    • Both Iron Man and Doom created a suit of armor to give them superpowers. The difference is Iron man uses his powers and intelligence to help people, while Doom uses his gifts to subjugate others.
    • Overall, Doom represents what Iron Man would have become had he been consumed by his tragedy.
  • In a way, Doctor Doom actually got what he wanted when Yogthulu killed him, as he was presumably able to reunite with his family in the afterlife.
