Doctor Finitevus is a major antagonist in the Sonic the Hedgehog comic book series by Archie Comics. Once a benevolent scientist, he was changed after being exposed to Chaos Knuckle's energy which turned him into a mad scientist bent on cleansing the world of all he sees as corrupt which to him means destroying the entire world.
Appearance[]
Before his transformation, he had red fur like any other Echidna would along with purple eyes glasses, white gloves, and an orange robe and yellow boots.
After his transformation, however, his fur would become an albino color, his eyes would be yellow and even sporting crimson eyelids instead of his former white. For attire he would wear four warp rings on each of his arms and legs, sport a black cape, have his arms and legs wrapped up in bandages, and gold platting for his belt and chest plate.

Background[]
Finitevus was a young promising echidna researcher at Ablion who created a Chaos siphon suit to drain Chaos energy. When Knuckles lost control of his Chaos powers Fintevus who attempt to use the suit to drain the corrupted Chaos Energy out of him. Unfortunately this process would be interrupted by Vector and Charmy which resulted in Finitevus being bathed in the corrupted Chaos energy which permanently changed his appearance and personality.
While it was first thought that the change was positive as his physical strength and intelligence had been enhanced the transformation, they would also discover that the transformation had turned him into a Photo negative version of Knuckles. This meant that unlike Knuckle's who was a Guardians Fintevus had been turned into a destroyer which was shown by him violently condemning the state of the world and seeking to destroy it. While people of Ablion did not take him seriously at first, they realized the threat he posed when he stated using dark Chaos magic to create inventions such as his custom Warp rings which caused Ablion's government to call for his euthanization. However, Finitevus would escape Ablion due to his Warp Ring technology. Some time later he would return to Ablion and secretly sabotage the defense system of the city. He would then later lead an Eggman Empire invasion to the city and slaughter all it's people and reduce the city to a wasteland.
Time with the Dark Legion and recruiting the Destructix[]
He would then end up joining the Dark Legion as there Technomage. However his main reason for joining was to learn more about Enerjak and Chaos ancestry by taking apart Dimitri (the third Enerjak) and performing experiments on the Brotherhood of Guardians. After learning all that he could from them he banished them to the Twilight Cage finding it ironic as they had banished members of the Dark Legion themselves. He would still be a part of the Dark Legion when Sonic, Knuckle's, and the Chatiox arrived to stop the Eggman invasion on Angel Island. While there he would be infuriated that a blind person who was forced to work at the prison camos refused cybernetic eyes but instead trusted in religion. Later when Hunter arrived he sent Remington to the Egg Grapes in front of Finitevus, the doctor used this as an opportunity to fake his capture and escape.
Thanks to all the research he had done he began to enact his new plan to create a new Enerjak which he planned to use to purge the world. Deeming Remington to be one of two candidates for Enerjak he rescued him from Egg Grapes and brainwashed and legionized him. He would then pit him against his other candidate for Enerjak, grandmaster of the Dark Legion, Lien-Da by telling Remington he deserved to be grandmaster not her. This would then incite a civil war between the two factions of the Dark Legion to decide who would be the better candidate for Enerjak. However he would end up changing his mind after discovering the power Knuckle's possessed, deciding he would make the best Enerjak.
Later on he would use his warp rings to save Scourge the Hedgehog and Rouge the Bat from capture so he could recruit them for his latest scheme. He had them break into the Egg Grape chambers to rescue the Destructix. He would then have the team break into the base of Ivan Kintobor to steal data from a robot called Isacc although the data ended up being corrupted. He also attempted to steal nuclear missiles to use as part of his plan to cleanse the world although Rouge would end up sabotaging the missiles and stealing one of Finitevus' warp rings and make her escape. In response he would have Destructix members Sleuth Dawg and Scourge track her down and take back the Warp Ring. He would later assist Locke, Knuckle's father, with preventing the Master Emarald from being stolen by A.D.A.M although he only did this because he needed the emerald for his own schemes.
Enerjak Reborn[]
Finitevus would then arrive again on Angel Island with the Destructix to save the Echidna's from the Dingo's forces telling Locke he had reformed the Destructix, while Locke was sceptical Finitevus would have Dimitri lie to him make himself more trustworthy. He would then give Locke one of his warp rings and tell him to find the Brotherhood of Guardians to restore stability to Angel Island and that he would guard the Master Emerald and the people of the Island while he was gone. Locke would resolutely accept saying he would check in on him occasionally. After he left Dimitri would aske Finitevus to fulfil his end of the bargain, under the impression that Finitevus was going to use the Master Emerald to turn him back into Enerjak. In actuality however Finitevus would place an hex on the Master Emarald which would prevent Locke from drawing power form it, turn Knuckle's into Enerjak the next time he tapped into it, and he locked the hex by making it impossible to remove unless someone sacrificed their life to break it. Dimitri would later flee to warn others which did not surprise Finitevus as he wanted others to know.
Finitevus then would create truce between the members of both factions of the Dark Legion saying they needed to use the power of of the Master Emarald to stop the Eggman Empire's invasion. He would then have the Destructix bring Knuckle's to them where he would reveal to Knuckle's that Dr. Eggman had wiped out 90 percent of the Echidna population while he was gone including the Echidna's in Ablion. Knuckle's upon hearing this would attempt to tap into the Master Emarld's power to make things right but thank's to the hex he was tranformed into Enerjak just as Finitevus planned.
He would then send Enerjak to destroy Dingo city, killing General Kage and banishing the rest of the Dingoes to the desert. He would also have Enerjak remove the cybernetics of all the Dark Legion and restore Remington's mind. Then he would send him to destroy New Mobotropolis. During this Finitevus would catch Scourge using the Master Emerald to charge a warp ring for a quick escape if Finitevus' Enerjak plan did not succeed. Finitevus would then go on a long speech about the steps of his plan and his end goal of destroying the world much to the disinterest of Scourge. He would the send Scourge, Fiona Fox, and the Rest of the Destructix to guard an anti Enerjak weapon as he predicted Locke would try to obtain it.
Enerjak would later return to the Master Emerald shrine and ask Finitevus to restore his energy as Eggman had drained him of most of his power using the Egg Grapes. Finitevus would begin to give him energy but would be interrupted by Sonic who used this opportunity to use the Master Emarald to go Super so he could "beat the evil" out of Enerjak. Finitevus while surprised that Sonic was unaffected by the hex was pleased with this turn of events as he hoped that he fight between to godlike entities would be enough to destroy the planet like he planned. He would then be confronted by Knuckle's love interest , Julie-Su and his mentor Archimedes who would demand him to restore Knuckles to normal. Finitevus would then reveal to the lock he put on the hex and that breaking it would require sacrificing your life, however both Julie-Su and Archimedes did not hesitate to volunteer to sacrifice themselves followed by the returning Locke who ultimately decided to give his life for his son. FInitvus then attacked them in an attempt to to prevent them from breaking the hex but was then telported away by Archimedes allowing Locke to give his life to break the hex and restore Knuckles to normal. Finitevus would then become enraged at his plan failing and would be when punched off the island by a vengeful Knuckles. Finitevus woould then taunt Knuckle's before using his warp ring to escape the Island one again.
Final Battle with Knuckles and aftermath[]
Upon investigating the ruins in the Great Crater in Downunda he would find the Dark Egg Legion their led by Duck "Bill" Platypus. He would then proceed to strike a deal with them, he would give them his warp ring technology to capture angel Island and obtain the Master Emerald on the condition he could study the Emerald to his hearts content. He would later be confronted in the Great Crater by Knuckles, Julie-Su, and MIghtly who wanted him to answer for what he did to Knuckle's and causing Locke's death. After brief fight they would all witness Angel Island being captured with Chains using warp ring technology. Finitevus would then insist this wasn't him and that they should work together to stop the Dark Egg legion much the reluctance of Knuckles.
They would later join up with the Freedom fighters and Thrash in that region to fight the Dark Egg Legion. Later thanks to the Freedom Fighter's Knuckle's would discover Finitevus was working with the Dark Egg Legion the whole time. Despite trying to lure him into a trap Finitevus would beat them all and deliver them to the Dark Egg Legion. There he would reveal his deal he mad with them and would proceed to leave to oversee the Master Emerald and left Knuckle's and his friends to be killed by BIll. Surprisingly Bill would turn out to be a double agent and would free the prisoners leading to Knuckles confronting Finitevus at the Master Emerald Shrine. Finitevus would then attempt to convince Knuckles to join his side again claiming he could give him answers about his ancestor's past and that he could give him anything he wanted. Knuckles would end up responding all he wanted was his father back and Finitevus would off his island resulting in the two tapping into the Chaos force and fighting ins a spectacular duel. This would end with Finitevus catching Knuckles in a warp ring and attempting to cut him in half only to be shot in the back by Julie-Su and thrown off the Island by Knuckles.
Later he would be revealed to have survived the fall and while he believed Knuckles to be beyond "saving" he still had plans for him in future schemes. Later he would make a deal with Fiona giving her a warp ring to break Scourge out of prison on the condition that he and the rest of the of the Destuctix do a job for him. What happened to him after that is left unknown as the Super Genesis Wave would reboot the timeline, leaving any knowledge of Finitevus's existence or presence retconned in the new timeline.
